Abstract A newly recognized Mnin restraining stepover is identified in the Permo-Mesozoic cover of western part Late Palaeozoic Holy Cross Mountains Fold Belt (Poland), within a fault pattern consisting dextral strike-slip faults. The formation large contractional structure at Cretaceous – Cenozoic transition displays significant role faulting along border Teisseyre-Tornquist Zone, foreland Polish Carpathian Orogen. Theoretical relationships between maximum offsets/ mean step length, as well...

Electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) is widely used geophysical method in civil engineering surveys and common deposit researches Poland. Most of the previous ERT were limited to simple glacial fluvioglacial geological settings. PBG Exploration Geophysics Service Ltd. implemented for purpose mapping complex settings recently. This paper presents three case studies surveys, aiming detail geology Andrychów Klippen Belt, Muszyna area Przeczyce dam basement.

The authors applied seismic refraction tomography (SRT) for imaging geometry, surrounding medium and internal details of fault zones. applicability the SRT technique to structural analysis zones is demonstrated. Typical effects zone occurrence on velocity field distribution described discussed. Three examples from southern Poland are presented, illustrating description. A phenomenon increase in some introduced ascribed presence residual stress recently active

Abstract In a recently published report focused on the role of swelling Triassic clays as dominant process that led to local steepening competent Jurassic strata, its authors presented an opinion lack evidence for existence Gnieździska–Brzeziny strike‐slip fault along contact between and rocks. This discussion presents structural, geophysical, cartographic geomechanical data indicating rocks is defined by vertical dextral fault, which was formed after tilting beds in Late Cretaceous. The...

The abandoned historic gold mining areas in the Sudetes are prospective for vein-type sulphide and deposits. applied VLF geophysical survey showed a number of linear anomalies indicating possibility occurrence unknown quartz-sulphide ore veins former exploitation arsenic Klecza-Radomice Ore District As-polymetallic sulphides Czarnów deposit. These very promising further prospecting auriferous polymetallic ore. Shallow drilling campaign is postulated order to verify potential recorded anomalies.

Summary We present results of refraction seismic tomography supported by resistivity survey on massive landslide developed in unlithified glacial sediments lowland Poland. The allowed authors to identify spatial extent and the depth range involved, lithology hosting subtle changes within landslide-generated deposits – two generations colluvium presence tufa layer cementing colluvium. Usability integrated geophysical approach site investigation, based both methods was suggested.

Landslide processes are growing problem in Polish part of Western Carpathians. We discuss application electric resistivity tomography (ERT) survey for flysch landslide site description. Refering to sites known geological context, and surveyed with seismic refraction method we able distinguish signal deposits from bedrock. Such approach alowed us indicate usefull information be obtained ERT surveys, as well shortcomings the

The abandoned Klecza-Radomice gold mining area in the Kaczawskie Mountains is prospective for new occurrences of vein-type deposits.Research sulphide ore samples from old wastes confirmed a rich abundance this area.Chemical bulk-rock analyses proved high content (up to 60 ppm Au) and common occurrence microscopic (mainly electrum). The application geophysical VLF surveys showed number linear anomalies indicating possibility emergence veins between areas former exploitation. This very promising...
