We have studied resistivity, magnetization, and magnetoresistance in polycrystalline ${\mathrm{La}}_{0.67}$${\mathrm{Ba}}_{0.33}$${\mathrm{MnO}}_{\mathit{z}}$ by reducing the oxygen stoichiometry from z=2.99 to 2.80. As content decreases, resistivity of ${\mathrm{La}}_{0.67}$${\mathrm{Ba}}_{0.33}$ ${\mathrm{MnO}}_{\mathit{z}}$ increases magnetic transition temperature shifts lower temperature. A large effect was observed over a wide range for all samples except insulating z=2.80 sample. The...
We report the observation of giant magnetoresistance near room temperature in ferromagnetic films La1−xSrxMnOz for 0.16≤x≤0.33. For B=5 T, maximum ratio [R(0)−R(B)]/R(0) an annealed film is 60% at 260 K x=0.2, and 35% 330 x=0.33. Annealed have higher Curie (Tc), a larger saturation moment effect Tc than do as-grown films. The dependence resistivity all samples investigated unusual, activated above metallic below Tc. This are possibly explained by scattering from magnetic polarons which...
The magnetoresistance of epitaxial Nd0.7Sr0.3MnOδ thin films has been studied. A giant magnetoresistance, with more than 4 orders magnitude change in resistance (−ΔR/RH≳106%), was obtained at ∼60 K and a magnetic field 8 T. This (GMR) ratio is about one order larger the highest value reported previously which observed La–Ca–Mn–O film. We have also large GMR −ΔR/RH≳3000% for H=5 T an situ film, much effect previous results doped manganese oxide only postannealed samples. Our show that these...
We report measurements of the structural, optical, transport, and magnetic properties single crystals anisotropic $p$-type transparent semiconductor ${\text{CuAlO}}_{2}$. The indirect direct band gaps are 2.97 3.47 eV, respectively. Temperature-dependent Hall yield a positive coefficient in measured range an activated carrier temperature dependence. resistivity is anisotropic, with $ab$-plane about 25 times smaller than $c$-axis at room temperature. Both similar activation energies....
Oxygen $K$-edge electron-energy-loss spectra have been measured for ${\mathrm{La}}_{1\ensuremath{-}x}{\mathrm{Sr}}_{x}{\mathrm{MnO}}_{3}$ $(0\ensuremath{\le}x\ensuremath{\le}0.7)$ and ${\mathrm{La}}_{0.7}{\mathrm{Sr}}_{0.3}{\mathrm{MnO}}_{z}$ thin films as a function of $x$ $z$. The show prepeak at the Fermi level, corresponding to transitions empty states in ${\mathrm{O}}_{2p}$ band, threshold $K$ edge around 529 eV. This systematically increases with an increase conductivity through...
The influence of sample preparation on the resistivity and magnetoresistance (MR) behavior doped manganese oxides has been studied. Two systems, Nd0.7Sr0.3MnO3−δ La0.67Ba0.33MnO3−δ thin films, have chosen for this study. former largest reported MR ratio at 60 K latter a large room temperature. processes, deposition high temperature annealing temperature, opposite influences these films. results suggest that oxygen stoichiometry diffusion are important factors in causing observed oxide
Functional analysis of a putative novel transcription factor Arabidopsis MYB-like protein designated AtMYBL, which contains two predicted DNA-binding domains, was performed. The physiological role the R-R-type has not been reported in any plant. Analyses an AtMYBL promoter–β-glucuronidase (GUS) construct revealed substantial gene expression old leaves and induction GUS activity by ABA salt stress. AtMYBL-overexpressing plants displayed markedly enhanced leaf senescence phenotype. Moreover,...
We report the resistivity, thermopower, and dc susceptibility of R${\mathrm{NiO}}_{3}$ (R=La,Pr) ceramic samples for 1.4 K\ensuremath{\le}T\ensuremath{\le}300 K. The resistivity ${\mathrm{LaNiO}}_{3}$ shows a ${\mathit{T}}^{2}$ dependence below 80 K changes over to ${\mathit{T}}^{1.5}$ at higher temperature (100--300 K). ${\mathrm{PrNiO}}_{3}$ exhibits metal-insulator transition ${\mathit{T}}_{\mathrm{MI}}$=130 with linear above ${\mathit{T}}_{\mathrm{MI}}$. thermopower both is negative in...
We report measurements of the specific heat ${\mathrm{La}}_{0.67}$${\mathrm{Ba}}_{0.33}$Mn${\mathrm{O}}_{3}$ and ${\mathrm{La}}_{0.8}$${\mathrm{Ca}}_{0.2}$Mn${\mathrm{O}}_{3}$ for temperatures $2<T<15$ K. These materials are ferromagnetic metallic oxides which exhibit colossal magnetoresistance. find that above 3 K has terms proportional to $T$ ${T}^{3}$, but a ${T}^{\frac{3}{2}}$ term, as might be expected from excitation spin waves, cannot resolved outside precision data. The cubic...
Systematic magnetization, resistivity, and ferromagnetic resonance measurements have been done on bulk as well thin-film samples of ${\mathrm{La}}_{\frac{2}{3}}{\mathrm{Ba}}_{\frac{1}{3}}\mathrm{Mn}{\mathrm{O}}_{3}$. Bulk specimens as-grown films show broad lines whose width increases to nearly 1 kOe $T$ is reduced 77 K. At low $T$, the magnetization expected for fully aligned spins [$4\ensuremath{\pi}M(0)=7.2$ kOe]. As-grown films, however, somewhat smaller values. The main finding that...
Abstract Hibernators like bats show only marginal muscle atrophy during prolonged hibernation. The current study was designed to test the hypothesis that hibernators use periodic arousal increase protein anabolism compensates for continuous proteolysis disuse. To this hypothesis, we investigated effects of 3‐month hibernation (HB) and 7‐day post‐arousal torpor (TP) followed by re‐arousal (RA) on signaling activities in pectoral muscles summer‐active (SA) dormant Murina leucogaster bats. did...
CCCH-type zinc finger proteins are important for developmental and environmental responses. However, the precise roles of these in plant stress tolerance poorly understood. Arabidopsis thaliana Oxidation-related Zinc Finger 2 (AtOZF2) (At4g29190) is an AtOZF1 homolog previously isolated from Arabidopsis, which confers oxidative on plants. The AtOZF2 protein localized plasma membrane, as AtOZF1. Disruption expression led to reduced root length leaf size. was implicated be involved ABA...
Hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) reactions play a vital role in radical chemistry and biological systems, enabling selective C–H functionalization through bond dissociation energy polarity effects. While intramolecular 1,5-HAT is well-established, 1,2-HAT processes remain relatively challenging, particularly for nitrogen-centered radicals, due to high activation barriers. Here, we report successful of an amidyl generated from N-amidopyridinium salts, enabled by frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) system...
We report on a systematic investigation of strain-induced lattice distortion effects the crystal structure and transport properties as-grown postannealed ultrathin La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 epitaxial films grown LaAlO3 (001) substrates by pulsed laser deposition. The resistivity is critically dependent thickness, i.e., 100 Å thick show insulating behavior, 300 metal-insulator transitions, 500 metallic behavior. However, all annealed identical Conventional θ–2θ x-ray scans with momentum transfer (q)...
Abstract The microstructure of strained epitaxial La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) films on a LaAlO3(001) substrate has been investigated by means electron diffraction and high-resolution microscopy in cross-section plan view. Fourier transforms the images allow us to deduce local lattice parameters at increasing distance from interface. evolution stress film is studied as function thickness thermal treatment. It found that, close interface, both are elastically opposite sense such that interface...
