Abstract In the present study, a coarse grained AZ31 plate was refined by "Equation missing"<!-- image only, no MathML or LaTex --> twin boundaries (TBs) and grain (GBs), respectively. A comparative study about different effects of refinements GBs TBs on tension-compression yield asymmetry performed. Our results show that both increase tensile compressive strengths, but to degree. are more effective harden twinning, lower strengthening against prismatic <a> slip much is thus obtained....
Increasing the plastic deformation temperature of Mg alloys results in higher strain rate sensitivity, easier activation secondary slip modes, and impeded twinning. In this study, sensitivity is estimated for each mode, visco-plastic self-consistent modeling used to reproduce behavior an Mg-3Al-1Zn O-temper plate from 150 450°C. Twinning basal have relatively low whereas modes are highly sensitive at high temperature. The texture evolution anisotropy modeled different temperatures rates....
