The mammalian dentition is a serially homogeneous structure that exhibits wide numerical and morphological variation among multiple different species. Patterning of the achieved through complex reiterative molecular signaling interactions occur throughout process odontogenesis. secreted molecule Sonic hedgehog (Shh) plays key role in this process, Shh coreceptor growth arrest-specific 1 (Gas1) expressed odontogenic mesenchyme epithelium during stages tooth development. We show mice...

A 16-year-old male presented with blunt force trauma to the left peri-orbital region. He complained of diplopia and restricted adduction eye. Computed tomography (CT) imaging revealed medial orbital wall fracture involving rectus muscle. Upon operating, was discovered have been avulsed at its origin. We discuss diagnosis management this rare complication.

ABSTRACT The mammalian dentition exhibits wide numerical and morphological variation between different species. regulation of dental pattern is achieved through complex reiterative molecular signalling interactions that occur multiple stages tooth development. We show mice with loss-of-function in the Hedgehog co-receptor Gas1 have size, morphology number teeth within molar dentition. Specifically, premolar-like supernumerary are present high penetrance, arising survival continued...
