Dispersion of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is a challenge for their application in the resulting matrixes. The present study conducted comparison investigation effect four surfactants: Alkylphenol polyoxyethylene ether (APEO), Silane modified polycarboxylate (Silane-PCE), I-Cationic (I-C-PCE), and II-Cationic (II-C-PCE) on dispersion hydroxyl functionalized multi-walled (MWCNTs-OH). Among surfactants, APEO II-C-PCE provide best worst CNTs water, respectively. MWCNTs-OH has been characterized by...

This work analyses the influence of fine concrete fractions (<5 mm) different natures —calcareous (HcG) and siliceous (HsT)—obtained from construction demolition waste (C&DW) on behaviour blended cement pastes with partial replacements between 5 10%. The two C&DW were characterised by instrumental techniques. Subsequently, their lime-fixing capacity physico-mechanical properties analysed. Lastly, environmental benefits reusing these wastes in manufacture future eco-efficient...

The last volcanic eruption on the island of La Palma (Spain) took place in 2021. Significant activity started September that year with vigorous emission gases and ash lasted for three months. It is estimated Cumbre Vieja volcano emitted more than ten million cubic meters comprising pyroclastic materials like those found many parts world. Some these deposits are untapped, despite their potential construction industry applications. Since chemical composition mineralogy depends type magma from...

Abstract The dynamics of water confined in cement materials is still a matter debate spite the fact that has major influence on properties such as durability and performance. In this study, we have investigated Portland (OPC) at different curing ages (3 weeks 4 years after preparation) three water-to-cement ratios ( w / c , 0.3, 0.4 0.5). Using broadband dielectric spectroscopy, distinguish four due to molecules pores sizes cements. Here show how modified by evolution microstructure...

Tricalcium aluminate (C3A) is the most reactive component of Portland cement and its hydration has an important impact on workability early strength concrete. Recently, nanomaterials such as nano-silica (nano-SiO2) have attracted much attention in cement-based materials because pozzolanic reactivity pore-filling effect. However, influence C3A needs to be well understood. In this study, kinetics mixed with different percentages nano-SiO2 were studied compared pure C3A. The products examined...

The serious technical and environmental problems associated with the management of construction demolition wastes (CDW) have led to a worldwide growing interest in recycling that waste stream as secondary raw material for sustainable building applications. This research work investigates physical mechanical behaviour mortars made ternary cements containing 7% binary recycled CDW mixture comprising fine fraction (<5 mm) concrete (both siliceous calcareous nature) combination laminar glass...

Confined water in the slit mesopores of mineral tobermorite provides an excellent model system for analyzing dynamic properties confined cement-like materials. In this work, we use broadband dielectric spectroscopy (BDS) to analyze entrapped crystalline material. Two samples, one natural and synthetic, were analyzed, despite their similar structure, motion zeolitic cavity displays considerably different behavior. The dynamics splits into two behaviors depending on chemical nature otherwise...
