In this article, we investigate the discourse between a female conversational pedagogical agent and 59 adolescents in context of social studies lesson. We note that previous research has focused on positive effects agents, while failing to take into account intricacies learner–agent discourse, subsequently missing abuse suffered by agents at users' fingertips.
