Two noniterative subspace-based algorithms which identify linear, time-invariant MIMO (multi-input/multioutput) systems from frequency response data are presented. The related to the recent time-domain subspace identification techniques. first algorithm uses equidistantly, in frequency, spaced and is strongly consistent under weak noise assumptions. second arbitrary spacing more restrictive assumptions, promising results obtained when applied real originating a large flexible structure.

Here, we present two different brain diagnostic devices based on microwave technology and the associated first proof-of-principle measurements that show systems can differentiate hemorrhagic from ischemic stroke in acute patients, as well patients healthy volunteers. The system was scattering with an antenna worn head. Measurement data were analyzed a machine-learning algorithm is training using known condition. Computer tomography images used reference. detection methodology evaluated...

Multipath is a major impairment in wireless communications environment, and channel estimation algorithms are of interest. We propose superimposed periodic pilot scheme for finite-impulse response (FIR) estimation. A simple first-order statistic used, any FIR can be estimated. There no loss information rate but controllable increase transmission power. derive the variance expression our linear estimate compare with Cramer-Rao bound. Numerical examples illustrate effectiveness proposed method.

Traumatic brain injury is the leading cause of death and severe disability for young people a major public health problem elderly. Many patients with intracranial bleeding are treated too late, because they initially show no symptoms not transported to trauma center. There need method detect bleedings in prehospital setting. In this study, we investigate whether broadband microwave technology (MWT) conjunction diagnostic algorithm can subdural hematoma (SDH). A human cranium phantom...

In the design of simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) systems, it has been typically assumed that energy conversion efficiency is independent from level input at receiver. On other hand, in practice exhibits a nonlinear behavior highly depends on power. This leads to discrepancy between practical harvesting (EH) hardware available resource allocation designs made for SWIPT systems. work concerned with this issue. particular, we propose quadratic model EH circuitry....

The parameter estimation of moving-average (MA) signals from second-order statistics was deemed for a long time to be difficult nonlinear problem which no computationally convenient and reliable solution possible. We show how the MA sample covariances can formulated as semidefinite program that solved in is polynomial function order. Two methods are proposed rely on two specific (over) parametrizations covariance sequence, whose use makes minimization fitting criterion convex problem....

In this article, a new approach to compensate both the response and reaction times of active power filters (APF) for special cases highly time-varying harmonics interharmonics electric arc furnace (EAF) currents is proposed. Instead using classical taking window past current samples analyzing data, future EAF are predetected deep learning (DL)-based method then analyzed, which provides opportunity make real-time analysis. This can also serve needs other possible APF applications. Two...

This paper presents predictive energy management of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) via computationally efficient multi-layer control. First, we formulate an optimization problem by considering driveability and a penalty for using service brakes in the objective function to optimize gear, engine on/off, clutch state, power-split decisions subject constraints on battery state charge (SOC) sustenance. Then, split it into two control layers, including supervisory higher layer local lower layer....

A parameter estimation method for finite-dimensional multivariate linear stochastic systems, which is guaranteed to produce valid models approximating the true underlying system in a computational time of polynomial order dimension, presented. This achieved by combining main features certain subspace identification techniques with sound matrix Schur restabilizing procedures and covariance fitting, both are formulated as inequality problems. All aspects discussed, an emphasis on two issues...
