To investigate the relative contributions of naturally occurring penicillin-binding protein 3 (PBP3) substitutions, and TEM-1, TEM-15, ROB-1 beta-lactamases on resistance to a third-generation cephalosporin in Haemophilus influenzae parainfluenzae. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) cefotaxime (CTX) was assessed after transformation with PCR-amplified ftsI genes expressing altered PBP3 and/or small plasmids encoding into an isogenic environment H. parainfluenzae. Group III PBP3,...

TEM-1 is the dominant β-lactamase of Haemophilus influenzae and can be located on small plasmids. Three distinct plasmids with sizes from 4,304 to 5,646 nucleotides (nt) were characterized: pA1606, pA1209, pPN223. In addition a replication enzyme Rep 3 superfamily, pA1606 carries Tn3 resolvase gene pA1209 carry an open reading frame (ORF) similar plasmid recombination described in Gram-positive bacteria. The transformed strain Rd ampicillin-resistant phenotype.

Reelin is an extracellular glycoprotein of crucial importance in the developmental organisation neurons mammalian cerebral cortex and other laminated brain regions. The pig possesses a gyrencephalic that bears resemblance to human brain. In order establish animal model for neuronal migration disorders pig, we have studied expression pattern structure during development. We determined sequence mRNA protein identified high degree homology Reelin. A peak present period major neurogenesis...

ABSTRACT Mutations in ftsI , encoding penicillin-binding protein 3, can cause decreased β-lactam susceptibility Haemophilus influenzae . Sequencing of from clinical strains has indicated interspecies recombination between H. and haemolyticus This study documented apparently unrestricted homologous vitro Transfer resistant isolates conferred similar but not identical increases the MICs susceptible

Filamentous fungi cultured from respiratory tract specimens submitted to the department of clinical microbiology, Aarhus University Hospital, during 2010 were identified by morphology and internal transcribed spacer ( ITS ) sequencing. Of 343 fungal isolates, discrepancies between identification methods observed for four isolates (1.2%), while species was achieved only with sequencing 16 (4.7%). isolated 15% cystic fibrosis CF samples in contrast 2% non‐ samples. From patients, a total nine...

Only two beta-lactamases, TEM-1 and ROB-1, have been observed in Haemophilus influenzae, while four different TEM but no ROB enzymes found parainfluenzae. In order to investigate the mechanisms behind dissemination of small beta-lactamase-encoding plasmids H. influenzae parainfluenzae, we assessed fitness cost three TEM-1- (pPN223, pA1209, pA1606), one TEM-15- (pSF3) ROB-1-bearing (pB1000) plasmid when expressed either bacterial species. All were stable parainfluenzae except pB1000, which...
