Numerous studies have shown that students of health professions report higher perceived stress and lower quality life (QOL) levels than those in other disciplines. The purpose this cross-sectional survey study is to assess variations students' QOL by demographic college-related factors. World Health Organization (WHOQOL) – BREF Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-14) were used among at King Saud Bin Abdul-Aziz University for Sciences (KSAU-HS), Riyadh, during December 2015–June 2016. As part of our continuing investigation Jordanian Colchicum species, the biologically active components brachyphyllum were pursued. Using bioactivity-directed fractionation, nine colchicinoids isolated and characterized. One these has a novel ring system, to which we have ascribed trivial name (+)-demecolcinone (9), it represents first naturally occurring dextrorotatory colchicinoid. Another compound was new colchicinoid analogue, (−)-2,3-didemethyldemecolcine (8), while remaining seven...

N ‐Myristoyl transferase is an essential enzyme for fungal growth and survival. The continuous interest in the development of new antifungal agents prompted recent developing potent inhibitors ‐myristoyl transferase. In this context, we combined pharmacophore QSAR modeling to explore structural requirements employing 55 known ligands. Four binding models emerged optimal equations ( = 0.81–0.83, F ‐statistic 47.89–58.83, 0.77–0.80, against 11 external test 0.61–0.71). successful...

Farnesyltransferase enzyme (FTase) is considered an essential in the Ras signaling pathway associated with cancer. Thus, designing inhibitors for this might lead to discovery of compounds effective anticancer activity. In attempt obtain FTase inhibitors, pharmacophore hypotheses were generated using structure-based and ligand-based approaches built Discovery Studio v3.1. Knowing presence zinc feature inhibitor’s binding active site enzyme; further customization was applied include...

The primarily more active Gram-positive bacteria. CIPRO derivatives, CD-7 (Ar = 3-chlorophenyl), CD-9 2-pyrimidyl) CD-10 (α-phenyl, Ar 2-pyrimidyl), exhibited lower MIC values, 0.4–0.9 μM, than CIPRO, while only compound better activity, 0.1 subtilis...
