Pomegranate is a subtropical fruit that affects its cold storage. To ameliorate chilling injury, fruits were treated with malic acid (50 and 100 mM MA) oxalic (5 10 OA), then, coated 2% chitosan (CH) stored at low temperature (2°C) for 4 months. Treatments significantly delayed the development of browning signs reduced malondialdehyde hydrogen peroxide arils as compared to control. CH+ 5 OA resulted in highest catalase activity during Anthocyanin, ascorbic acid, total phenolic compound,...
Field studies were conducted to investigate the effects of different rates herbicides on weed control, agronomic characteristics, and quality sugar beet at Shiraz, Iran, in 2000 2001. Separate combined applications herbicides, including 14 combinations grass broadleaf two used. Herbicides reduced biomass compared with weedy check. In both years, maximum reduction was observed desmedipham plus phenmedipham ethofumesate 0.23 + kg ai/ha propaquizafop 0.46 0.1 ai/ha. Efficacy when they pyrazon....
Pomegranate is a subtropical and chilling sensitive fruit. In this study, the effects of malic acid (50 100 mM) oxalic (5 10 on quality properties pomegranate during cold storage (2 ℃) were investigated. The lowest weight loss was observed in fruit treated with 50 mM acid. Malic had positive color parameters ( L*, a*, b*) at low temperature. Organic treatments reduced injury, malondialdehyde, hydrogen peroxide increased catalase activity. activity polyphenol oxidase peroxidase 5 acid-treated...
AbstractMelissa officinalis L. is a cosmopolitan aromatic and medicinal plant from the Lamiaceae family, which necessary for pharmaceutical cosmetic production. To evaluate impact of different harvesting times materials on essential oil content composition M. 4-year-old plants, present study was conducted in Fars province, Iran, under industrial field conditions. A randomized factorial experiment with three replications used. Each replication contained six treatments [3 × 2 (shade drying +...
Water deficit is one of the most important factors in reducing medicinal plants' yield. Origanum majorana L. grows some regions world and it cultivated for consumption pharmaceutical purposes. In order to study effects methyl jasmonic acid (MeJA) on O. under limited irrigation conditions, a factorial experiment was performed as complete randomized design with three replications. Experimental including different conditions such keeping pots at field capacity during (control), 75 % (mild...
Seaweeds are rich sources of bioactive natural products, which have been considered as potential biotic agents. Ulva flexuosa Wulfen is a species seaweed endemic to the Persian Gulf. In this study, effect different concentrations U. extract on the antioxidant activity Washington Navel orange (Citrus sinensis L. cv. Navel) fruits (measured free radical scavenging activity; FRSA) and postharvest quality were evaluated under cold storage (5±1°C) conditions 85-90% relative humidity up 60 days....
