Two novel conjugated low band gap small molecules (SMs), M1 and M2, containing benzobisthiadiazole thienothiadiazole central units, respectively, were synthesized. Both SMs carried terminal cyanovinylene 4-nitrophenyl at both sides which connected to the unit with a thiophene ring. The long-wavelength absorption was located 591–643 nm optical 1.62–1.63 eV, is lower than that of P3HT. These two investigated as electron donor materials along PCBM or F acceptors for fabrication bulk...

A novel star-shaped small monomer SM containing a 1,3,5-triazine core and arms with terminal cyanovinylene 4-nitrophenyls was synthesized. Moreover, an alternating p-phenylenevinylene copolymer P thiophene 4-nitrophenyl side segments synthesized by Heck coupling. Both showed broad absorption spectra long-wavelength maximum at 630−648 nm, which for is attributable to intramolecular charge transfer. The optical band gap 1.57 eV 1.70 P. were blended PCBM study the donor−acceptor interactions on...

In this work, we report a simple and facile one-pot chemical approach of the decoration uniform zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) on reduced graphene (GO) study its antimicrobial activity. The nanocomposite was fully characterized using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning (SEM), x-ray diffraction (XRD) Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). TEM SEM images clearly indicated presence Graphene sheets decorated with uniformly sized nanoparticles. Further, as an application...

We report a design and fabrication strategy for creating an artificially stacked multilayered optical filters using thermal evaporation technique. have selectively chosen zinc sulphide (ZnS) lattice the high refractive index (n = 2.35) layer magnesium fluoride (MgF2) as low 1.38) layer. Furthermore, microstructures of ZnS/MgF2 multilayer films are also investigated through TEM HRTEM imaging. The fabricated consist 7 13 alternating layers, which exhibit reflectance 89.60% 99%, respectively....

We have fabricated PMMA/SiO2 nanocomposite flexible thin films of 60 μm thicknesses by using solution casting method in the presence transverse electric field. In this paper, we investigated effect SiO2 nanoparticle (NP) loading on optical and mechanical properties composite film. The SEM images show that a smoother uniform morphology. transmittance peak near 1103 cm−1 FT-IR spectrum confirms NPs It is observed bandgap decreases with an increase NP concentration. Dynamic analysis shows...

The morphology of the photoactive layer used in bulk heterojunction photovoltaic devices is crucial for efficient charge generation and their collection at electrodes. We investigated solvent vapor annealing thermal effect an alternating phenylenevinylene copolymer P:PCBM blend on its optical properties. UV-visible absorption spectroscopy shows that both can result self-assembling P to form ordered structure, leading enhanced red region hole transport enhancement. By combining devices, power...
