Oxidative stress and dysfunctional mitochondria are among the earliest events in AD, triggering neurodegeneration. The use of natural antioxidants could be a neuroprotective strategy for blocking cell death. Here, antioxidant action ferulic acid (FA) on different paths leading to degeneration recombinant beta-amyloid peptide (rAbeta42) treated cells was investigated. Further, improve its delivery, novel drug delivery system (DDS) used. Solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs), empty or containing...

Ferulic acid (FA), a phenolic compound with significant antioxidant activity in Alzheimers disease, was entrapped into several solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN and NLC) by using the microemulsion technique. Stable SLN NLC formulations having mean size ranging between 94-140 nm high zeta potential were obtained. Gene transfer represents an important advance in the treatment of both genetic and acquired diseases. In this article, suitability cationically modified solid-lipid nanoparticles (SLN) as a nonviral vector for gene delivery was investigated, order to obtain stable materials able condense RNA. Cationic SLN were produced by microemulsion using Compritol ATO 888 matrix lipid, Pluronic F68 tenside, dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide (DDAB) cationic lipid. The resulting particles approximately...

Substance P (SP) is a neuropeptide that mediates many physiological as well inflammatory responses. Recently, SP has been implicated in the resolution of inflammation through induction M2 macrophages phenotype. The shift between M1-like and M2-like, allowing processes, also takes place by means hemeoxygenase-1 (HO-1). HO-1 induced response to oxidative stress stimuli modulates immune polarisation. induces expression human periodontal ligament (PDL), latter potentially plays role...

Abstract Two cDNA clones related to Paracentrotus lividus butanol‐extracted proteins, presumably belonging cell surface were isolated by a λgt11 expression library of ovary poly A + RNA. These clones, called bep 1 and bep4, 1,110 1,071 bp, respectively, belong multigene family. By sequencing analysis, special structural organization in the coding region is detected. single copy inserted between two regions different from each other but similar which constitute perfectly preserved domains...

Bep mRNAs are localized at the animal pole of P. lividus eggs. In present communication secondary structures 3'UTRs bep1, bep3 and bep4 reported. The minimal lengths these regions required to bind 54-kDa protein, previously shown be involved in localization anchoring RNAs, is estimated. Microinjection 3'UTR into egg shows that this RNA fragment also able become one poles, as happens for entire RNA.
