The synthesis of zinc oxide (ZnO), with the support silver (Ag) and Graphene Oxide (GO), was carried out in several stages as a potential photocatalytic material. First, GO synthesized from commercial graphite using Hummers' method, ZnO Ag precursors were prepared. second stage electrospinning process, followed by calcination. solution to produce nanofibers, mixture polymer (polyvinyl alcohol), acetate, AgNO3, GO. fibres produced thermally treated at 500 C for 2 h. XRD FTIR analyses...
Bacterial cellulose (BC), chitosan (Chi), and collagen (Col) are known as biopolymers which have met some properties that required wound dressing. This study focused on investigating the fabrication of BC-based dressing with collagen, since has red blood cells binding anti-bacterial properties, while can support cell tissue growth for skin wounds. The was prepared by impregnating BC fibers in and/or solution 24 h. FTIR used to confirm intermolecular interaction amine hydroxyl group...
Cellulose nanofibers (CNFs), chitosan, and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are widely used to enhance the active functions antibacterial properties of wound dressings. This study was conducted prepare CNF/AgNP-chitosan using a straight incorporation method assess its antimicrobial activity. CNFs were isolated from oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFBs) pulping acid hydrolysis. AgNPs synthesized green synthesis method. The dressing produced by mixing 10% CNF solution in LiCl/DMAc AgNP-chitosan...
Bacterial cellulose (BC) is a biopolymer commonly used for wound dressing due to its high biocompatible properties either in-vitro or in-vivo. The three-dimensional fiber structure of BC becomes an advantage because it provides template the impregnation materials in order improve BC’s as dressing, since has not displayed any bioactivity properties. In this study, micro-colloidal Zanthoxylum acanthopodium (MZA) fruit was loaded into fibers via in-situ method. Z. known have anti-inflammatory,...
To address the high production cost associated with bacterial cellulose (BC) using Hestrin-Schramm (HS) medium, alternative agricultural wastes have been investigated as potential low-cost resources. This study aims to utilize pineapple core from canning industry waste a carbon source enhance growth of Komagataeibacter xylinus and characterize physical mechanical properties resulting BC. assess performance, commercial sugar at concentrations 0, 2.5, 5.0 % (w/v) was incorporated into medium....
This research explores utilizing abundant, economical cassava as a raw material for producing cationic starch in Indonesia. Cationic was synthesized by etherifying with CHPTAC monomer at 50-90°C. Successful modification confirmed via FTIR and NMR spectra. Characterization revealed the 80°C product exhibited optimal properties: high degree of substitution (0.35) reaction efficiency (98±1.2%). Its amorphous morphology impacted thermal resistance compared to crystalline forms. economically...
Abstract. Gea S, Pasaribu KM, Sarumaha AA, Rahayu S. 2022. Cassava starch/bacterial cellulose-based bioplastics with Zanthoxylum acanthopodium. Biodiversitas 23: 2601-2608. The use of conventional plastics has become one the biggest environmental problems because their difficulties in decomposing. Bioplastics are that decompose easily nature as they naturally sourced. purpose this research was to create antimicrobial from cassava starch addition bacterial cellulose (BC) a reinforcement...
The provision of a proper quality starter to produce nata de coco through agitation method has been done. main concern this was its effect after the oxygen flow into bioreactor containing glucose-based medium which inoculated by Acetobacterxylinum. 10-liter operated with stirring speed 200 rpm at room temperature. After 10 days, broth within harvested and analyzed using an optical microscope, results were compared oxygen-free broth. Based on observation bacterial clusters placed watch glass,...
Wood and non-wood cellulose are commonly used as raw material for paper production. This study aims to produce from bacterial (BC). Due its high-water binding property, BC was rod-coated with the mixture of polyethylene oxide (PEO)/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). The PEO varied 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 g (w/v) whereas use PVA 0.5 (w/v). characterized using SEM, FTIR, tensometer quality tested by Indonesia National Standard (SNI). result showed coating treatment improved mechanical, thermal, water...
This research explores the economic potential of producing cationic starch from abundant and inexpensive cassava in Indonesia. Cationic was synthesized by etherifying with 3-chloro-2-hydroxy propyltrimethyl ammonium chloride (CHPTAC) at varying temperatures. Successful synthesis confirmed FTIR NMR spectroscopy indicating C-N bonds. Properties like degree substitution (DS), reaction efficiency (RE), crystallinity, morphology thermal resistance were analyzed. The optimal temperature 80°C, a DS...
The presence of excess Mn²⁺ in water can result unpleasant odors and tastes, its consumption lead to neurological disorders humans. Adsorption using oxidized cellulose is an efficient method for removing ions. In this study, was the TEMPO/NaOCl/NaBr system with varying NaOCl concentrations (5, 15, 30 mmol/g) identify optimum conditions adsorption. carboxyl group content samples 0.2393, 0.2435, 0.2664 mmol/g, respectively. adsorption efficiencies were 92.40%, 91.71%, 91.43%, highest...
Zeolite is a porous crystalline mineral alumina silica tetrahydrate that has an open three-dimensional framework structure channels and cavities filled with metal ions, while Bottom ash also known to have high porosity surface area. Thus, both zeolite bottom can be used as adsorbents. This study aims make adsorbent based on Pahae natural mixture of from coal for iron (Fe) manganese (Mn) metals in well water. Adsorbent made Natural Pahae-Coal Ash size 200 mesh (74 µm) which been chemically...
Extracts from the leaves of kemuning plant have bioactive compounds that potential as antibacterial. However, there are some difficulties when using such instability, reactivity and having a strong odor. To overcome this problem, it is important to carry out treatment, namely, microencapsulation technique. Microencapsulation technique for coating active ingredient with polymer can protect component thereby increasing bioavailability compound be covered by material. The materials used in...
