We report the synchronization of two nonidentical spatially extended fields, ruled by one-dimensional complex Ginzburg-Landau equations, both in phase and amplitude turbulence regimes. In case small parameter mismatches, coupling induces a transition to completely synchronized state. For large is mediated synchronization. former case, state not qualitatively different from unsynchronized one, while latter may substantially differ it mainly dictated process space-time defects.
The rendering of different shapes just a single sample concentric double quantum ring is demonstrated realizable with terahertz laser field, that in turn, allows the manipulation electronic and optical properties sample. It shown by changing intensity or frequency one can come to new set degenerated levels rings switch charge distribution between rings. In addition, depending on direction an additional static electric linear quadratic confined Stark effects are observed. absorption spectrum...
Cardiovascular diseases have become the leading cause of death in developed countries. Among these, some are related to disruptions electrical synchronization cardiac tissue arrhythmias such as atrial flutter, ventricular tachycardia, or fibrillation. Their origin is diverse and involves several spatial temporal scales, ranging from nanoscale ion channel dysfunctions tissue-level fibrosis ischemia. Mathematical models play a crucial role elucidating mechanisms underlying by simulating...
We study the deterministic spin dynamics of an anisotropic magnetic particle in presence a field with constant longitudinal and time-dependent transverse component using Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation. characterize dynamical behavior system through calculation Lyapunov exponents, Poincaré sections, bifurcation diagrams, Fourier power spectra. In particular we explore positivity largest exponent as function magnitude frequency applied its direction respect to main anisotropy axis particle....
The relapsing-remitting dynamics is a hallmark of autoimmune diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Although current understanding both cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis significant, how their activity generates this prototypical not understood yet. In order to gain insight about that drive these dynamics, we developed computational model using biological knowledge. We hypothesized relapsing autoimmunity can arise through failure controlling cross-regulation...
Control and synchronization of continuous space-extended systems is realized by means a finite number local tiny perturbations. The perturbations are selected an adaptive technique, they able to restore each the independent unstable patterns present within space time chaotic regime, as well synchronize two states. effectiveness method robustness against external noise demonstrated for amplitude phase turbulent regimes one-dimensional complex Ginzburg-Landau equation. problem minimum...
A derivation is given of the amplitude equations governing pattern formation in surface tension gradient-driven Bénard–Marangoni convection. The are obtained from continuity, Navier–Stokes and Fourier Boussinesq approximation neglecting deformation buoyancy. system a shallow liquid layer heated below, confined below by rigid plane above with free whose linearly depends on temperature. convective modes Ginzburg–Landau type resonant advective non-variational terms. Generally, agreement...
In this paper, we study the deterministic spin dynamics of an anisotropic magnetic particle in presence a time-dependent field using Landau-Lifshitz equation. particular, case when is homogeneous with fixed direction perpendicular to anisotropy and consists constant time-periodic part. We characterize dynamical behavior system by monitoring Lyapunov exponents bifurcation diagrams. focus on dependence largest exponent magnitude frequency applied as well parameter particle. find rather...
In this work, we study numerically the periodicity of regular regions embedded in chaotic states for case an anisotropic magnetic particle. The particle is monodomain regime and subject to applied field that depends on time. dissipative Landau–Lifshitz–Gilbert equation models To perform characterization, compute several two-dimensional phase diagrams parameter space Lyapunov exponents isospikes. We observe multiple transitions among periodic states, revealing complex topological structures...
We study pairs of identical coupled chaotic oscillators. In particular, we have used Roessler (in the funnel and no regimes), Lorenz, four-dimensional Lotka-Volterra models. all four these cases, a pair oscillators is asymmetrically coupled. The main result numerical simulations that in specific values coupling strength asymmetry exist render two periodic synchronized. for which this phenomenon occurs well below previously known value complete synchronization. found behavior exists analysis....
This paper analyzes a new semiphysiological ionic model, used recently to study reexitations and reentry in cardiac tissue [I.R. Cantalapiedra et al, PRE 82 011907 (2010)]. The aim of the model is reproduce action potencial morphologies restitution curves obtained, either from experimental data, or more complex electrophysiological models. divides all ion currents into four groups according their function, thus resulting fast-slow inward-outward currents. We show that this simplified...
Purpose: To measure the in vitro flow properties of PRESERFLO implant for comparison with theoretical resistance to flow. Methods: The was designed control aqueous humor according Hagen-Poiseuille (HP) equation. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) performed analyze ultrastructure, and measurements were carried out using a gravity-flow setup. Results: SEM images showed luminal diameters 67.73 × 65.95 µm 63.66 70.54 µm. total diameter 337.2 µm, wall 154 wide. calculation (R) an (AH) viscosity...
We analyze the effects of asymmetric couplings in setting different synchronization states for a pair unidimensional fields obeying complex Ginzburg-Landau equations. Novel features such as asymmetry enhanced complete synchronization, limits appearance phase synchronized states, and selection final dynamics are reported characterized.
To investigate the possible risk factors for treatment failure in patients who had undergone Preserflo Microshunt (PMS) implantation, using anterior-segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) to analyze internal structures of bleb. The PMS blebs 54 were evaluated with AS-OCT. A mathematical model was used calculate total filtering surface episcleral fluid cavity (EFC) and hydraulic conductivity (HC) bleb wall. Complete qualified success defined as IOP between 6 17 mmHg or without glaucoma...
Phase-2 re-entry is thought to underlie many causes of idiopathic ventricular arrhythmias as, for instance, those occurring in Brugada syndrome. In this paper, we study under which circumstances a region depolarized tissue can re-excite adjacent regions that exhibit shorter action potential duration (APD), eventually inducing reentry. For purpose, use simplified ionic model reproduces well the potential. With help model, analyze conditions lead very short potentials (APs), as possible...
