Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbots provide a novel format for individuals to interact with large language models (LLMs). Recently released tools allow nontechnical users develop using natural language. Surgical education is an exciting area in which developed this manner may be rapidly deployed, though additional work will required ensure their accuracy and safety. In paper, we outline our initial experience AI chatbot creation surgical offer considerations future use of technology.
A library of acrylate-terminated poly(β-amino ester)s is synthesized in parallel (see figure and inside cover) via a condensation reaction that combines primary or secondary amines with diacrylates. This macromers then photopolymerized to form networks wide range degradation mechanical properties. Because the diversity properties, these polymers could be developed screened for numerous applications ranging from microdevices biomaterials. Supporting information this article available on WWW...
Introduction: Orthopaedic surgery residency positions are highly sought after. The purpose of this survey study was to report the following components applicant experience: (1) number programs which applicants applied and interviewed, (2) performance criteria associated with receiving interviews, (3) way respond e-mail interview offers, (4) pre- post-interview communication between programs, (5) importance day activities determinants rank order list (ROL), (6) financial cost application...
With the transition to a value-based model of care delivery, bundled payment models have been implemented with demonstrated success in elective lower extremity joint arthroplasty. Yet, hip fracture outcomes are dependent on patient-level factors that may not be optimized preoperatively due acuity care. The objectives this study (1) develop supervised naive Bayes machine-learning algorithm using preoperative patient data predict length stay and cost after (2) propose patient-specific project...
The rate of hip arthroscopy has increased significantly in recent years, although understanding patient perception remains limited. To analyze posts shared on Instagram and Twitter referencing to evaluate perspective, tone, timing, content, visibility, location.Cross-sectional study; Level evidence, 3.A search public was performed over a 1-year period, selected through use the following hashtags: #hiparthroscopy, #hipscope, #labralrepair. A total 1850 163 were included analysis. categorical...
Traumatic injuries are a leading cause of morbidity and mortality globally, with disproportionate impact on populations in low- middle-income countries (LMICs). The Kampala Trauma Score (KTS) is frequently used for triage these settings, though its predictive accuracy remains under debate. This study evaluates the effectiveness machine learning (ML) models predicting decisions compares their performance to KTS. Data from 4,109 trauma patients at Soroti Regional Referral Hospital, rural...
Objectives/Goals: Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) may apply Just-in-Time training (JITT) to provide medical students with learning experiences closely aligned real-time clinical needs. The purpose of this scoping review is offer an overview the implementation JITT in UME. Methods/Study Population: Following five-stage framework by Arksey and O’Malley methodically collect analyze studies on UME, five electronic databases were searched, a supplemental search for grey literature was...
Objectives/Goals: Equity and inclusivity initiatives among medical schools residency training programs may promote the benefits of demographic experiential experiences trainees at multiple levels. The purpose this study was to evaluate recent trends in available offerings institutions United States. Methods/Study Population: A systematic search each institution’s public domain conducted methodically collect analyze pre-undergraduate education (pre-UME), UME, graduate (GME), post-GME levels...
Objectives/Goals: Global surgical education is largely driven by high-income countries (HICs), with curricula not tailored to the needs of low- and middle-income (LMICs). This study assessed country-specific for global used generative AI develop curricula. Methods/Study Population: A curriculum framework was developed using expert opinion. Using a focused assessment survey, we evaluated international medical students’ trainees’ structured surgery curricula, covering research, education, data...
Abstract Social media provide a unique method of analyzing outcomes and quality in medicine. The purpose this observational study was to investigate the nature social content related shoulder elbow (S&E) surgery posted by patients, surgeons, hospitals. A public search Instagram for two-year period yielded 1,177 patient-related posts. categorical system assessed perspective, timing, tone, each post. Twitter accounts 77 S&E specialists from top five ranked U.S. News & World Report...
Background:Cycling injuries are increasing, particularly among elite athletes during major events such as the Tour de France. Many miss considerable time from sport and require surgical intervention. Little is known about epidemiology of to guide practice participation strategies, return-to-competition expectations, injury prevention protocols. Purpose:To evaluate epidemiology, operative incidence, timeline all cyclists participating in 21-stage France race over a span 8 years. Methods:All...
Background: A short-term protocol for evaluation of National Football League (NFL) athletes incurring concussion has yet to be fully defined and framed in the context potential team career longevity, financial risk, performance. Purpose: To compare outcomes NFL players with concussions by analyzing effect on (1) franchise release rate, (2) length, (3) salary, (4) Study Design: Cohort study; Level evidence, 3. Methods: player transaction records publicly available injury reports from August...
