Abstract Clarivate's Web of Science (WoS) and Elsevier's Scopus have been for decades the main sources bibliometric information. Although highly curated, these closed, proprietary databases are largely biased toward English‐language publications, underestimating use other languages in research dissemination. Launched 2022, OpenAlex promised comprehensive, inclusive, open‐source While already by scholars institutions, quality its metadata is currently still being assessed. This paper...
Abstract The growth history and formation mechanisms of the Cenozoic Tibetan Plateau are subject an intense debate with important implications for understanding kinematics dynamics large-scale intracontinental deformation. Better constraints on uplift deformation across northern plateau necessary to address how was constructed. To this end, we present updated field observations coupled low-temperature thermochronology from Qaidam basin in south Qilian Shan foreland north. Our results show...
Abstract The Proterozoic‐Phanerozoic evolution of the Tarim and North China cratons is integral to construction Eurasian continent. Throughout Paleozoic, these continents were bound by Paleo‐Asian Tethyan Oceans north south, respectively, and, thus, their paleogeography critical reconstructions oceanic domains. Specifically, it remains uncertain whether contiguous during Paleozoic. Geologic observations from Qilian Shan Longshou western provide valuable information regarding paleotectonic...
Existing models of intracontinental deformation have focused on plate-like rigid body motion v. viscous-flow-like distributed deformation. To elucidate how plate convergence is accommodated by strike-slip faulting and block rotation within a fold–thrust belt, we examine the Cenozoic structural framework central Qilian Shan northeastern Tibet, where NW-striking, right-slip Elashan Riyueshan faults terminate at WNW-striking, left-slip Haiyuan Kunlun faults. Field- satellite-based observations...
Abstract Although the Cenozoic Indo-Asian collision is largely responsible for formation of Tibetan plateau, role pre-Cenozoic structures in controlling timing and development deformation remains poorly understood. In this study we address problem by conducting an integrated investigation northern foreland north Qilian Shan-Nan Shan thrust belt, NW China. The work involves field mapping, U-Pb detrital-zircon dating Cretaceous strata examination growth-strata relationships, construction...
Abstract The Cenozoic kinematic evolution of the northern Tibetan Plateau resulted in growth Eastern Kunlun Range, Qaidam Basin, and Qilian Shan. widely developed lithium‐brine hosted within southwestern Basin make basin one most promising regions for brines mineralization across plateau. Better understanding deformation basin‐range interaction are significant deciphering model lithium formation. Despite decades studies, initiation timing, kinematics, pattern Plateau, its role impacting...
A method was developed for the determination of trace amounts REEs in high-purity cerium oxide by ICP-MS after separation solvent extraction. Based on specificity 2-ethylhexyl hydrogen-2-ethylhexylphosphonate, Ce matrix a tetravalent ionic state separated from all other trivalent REEs. After removal matrix, polyatomic interferences were negligible. More than 99.5% removed with 94–102% recoveries 14 REE impurities spiked sample. The precision 0.7–2.7% (RSD). detection limits rare earth...
Abstract The late Mesozoic Beishan fold‐thrust belt occupies a key position in central Asia, figuring importantly our understanding of intracontinental deformation response to far‐field plate‐boundary forces. To determine when and how the was developed, we conducted detailed field mapping, structural analysis, apatite (U–Th)/He (AHe) thermochronology Hongliudaquan area, southeastern Range. study area exposes fold thrust system, consisting southern nappe autochthonous sets. experienced >16...
The West Junggar of the western Central Asian Orogenic Belt is one typical regions in term ocean subduction, contraction and continental growth Late Paleozoic. However, it still controversial on exact time ocean‐continent transition so far. This study investigates rhyolites with columnar joint for first time. Based zircon U‐Pb dating, we determined that ages newly‐discovered are between 303.6 294.5 Ma, belonging to Carboniferous–Early Permian, which oldest rhyolite preserved world at...
In this paper, the Multi-Temporal Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (MT-InSAR) technology is adopted to monitor Line of Sight (LOS) displacement Fushun West Opencast Coal Mine (FWOCM) and its surrounding areas in northeast China using Sentinel-1 (SAR) images acquired from 2018 2022. The spatial-temporal evolution urban subsidence south-slope landslide are both analyzed detail. Comparison with ground measurements cross-correlation analysis via cross wavelet transform monthly...
Abstract The understanding of petrophysical properties is essential for the assessment and exploitation hydrocarbon reserves. Reservoir rock one main sources used to derive by laboratory measurements. However, probing complex pore structure heterogeneity carbonate rocks are difficult with conventional experimental methods. Digital physics (DRP) able compute petrophyscial parameters (e.g. porosity, permeability, elastic modulus) from three dimensional (3D) computed tomography (CT) images,...
