In this case series report, two patients with cervicogenic headache were selected. After initial positive response to the greater occipital nerve block, pulse radiofrequency (PRF) was performed on position of second cervical ganglion (C2). Two reported 100% pain relief lasting for 6 months. The lateral puncture is safer and more comfortable than posterior site. This study demonstrates effectiveness PRF treat originating from C2 nerve. However, we need further evaluate results using samples.
Objective: Patients with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) are at high risk for having a comorbid condition of migraine, and these two common diseases proposed to have some shared pathophysiological mechanisms. Our recent study indicated the dysfunction periaqueductal gray (PAG), key pain-modulating structure, contributes development pain hypersensitivity epileptogenesis in epilepsy. This is investigate functional connectivity PAG network migraine. Methods: Thirty-two patients TLE, including 16...
To investigate the effects of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) overexpression in ventrolateral periaqueductal gray (vlPAG) on behavioral changes epilepsy-migraine comorbid rats.We used an adeno-associated virus (AAV)-mediated vector to supplement BDNF vlPAG area prior establishment a pilocarpine-nitroglycerin (Pilo-NTG) combination-induced model epilepsy and migraine. Seizure- migraine-related behaviors were analyzed. Cell loss apoptosis detected through hematoxylin-eosin (HE) TUNEL...
To investigate the associations of macular microvascular abnormalities with characteristics and progression edema or exudation in Coats' disease, toward an updated understanding possible risk factors for exudation. Twenty-six eyes (26 patients) disease underwent multimodal imaging were followed 18 months. The classified according to their outcomes (refractory improved). Macular capillary affections assessed by optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) fluorescein (FA)....
Objective To construct a Self Rating Scale for Care Ability of puerperal women, and to provide pertinent assessment tools family, community hospital evaluate the self-care ability puerperium women. Methods Guided by theory Orem self-care, initial scale women was preliminarily constructed through literature review, qualitative interview, group discussion Delphi (Delphy expert consultation). method used conduct 3 rounds questionnaire consultation among 18 experts, reliability tested...
Abstract Objective To report a case of severe migraine without aura (MwoA) headaches triggered by palpation the folliculitis around unilateral nosewing and was chronic before effective treatment for migraine, to discuss its underlying mechanisms. Background Multiple studies have shown that peripheral mechanisms may be involved in generation there are few reports supporting this speculation. But clinical demonstrating reciprocal action between headache pathology has never been reported....
Abstract Objective : The comorbidity of migraine and depressive has been recognized, but the pathophysiology remains unknown. Here, we aimed to explore structural change amygdala(AMY) abnormal function in centromedial amygdala (CMA) among migraineurs with depression. Methods High-resolution T1-weighted functional magnetic resonance images were acquired from subjects 22 comorbid depression(EMwD ), episodic (EM), 20 major disorder (MDD), respectively, 18 healthy controls(HC). Apply voxel-based...
