This paper describes safety analysis of the high-temperature supercritical water-cooled thermal reactor with downward-flow water rods (called Super LWR) at pressure. Eleven transients and four accidents are chosen for considering types abnormalities. The cladding temperature is taken as important transient criterion instead heat flux ratio. once-through cooling system rod characterize LWR. "Loss feedwater" because it same "loss coolant flow" unlike BWR PWR. However, mitigate core heat-up...

Abstract Catalytic/initiated cracking of endothermic hydrocarbon fuels is an effective technology for cooling a hypersonic aircraft with high Mach number (over 5). Catalysts and initiators can promote fuel at low temperatures, increase conversion the heat sink capacity, suppress coke deposition, thereby reducing waste heat. mainly include metal oxide catalysts, noble catalysts nanoparticles, zeolite nanozeolite coating catalysts. Moreover, roughly nitrogenous compounds, oxygenated...

During the iron ore sintering process, its SiO2 content considerably affects sinter quality. In this study, effect of on indexes was studied, with mineral composition and microstructure analyses. It shown that strength reducibility products improved when increased. The yield tumbler index increased from 69.57% 58.67% to 74.02% 62.32%, respectively, increasing 3.92% 5.12%. Moreover, reduction disintegration (RDI+3.15) 66.50% 68.28%. There a quadratic function relationship between (x) RDI+3.15...

Abstract This paper describes design concept of safety system the high-temperature supercritical pressure light water cooled reactor with downward-flow rods (Super LWR). Since this is once-through cooling without level and coolant circulation, fundamental requirement keeping core flow rate while that reactors (LWR) inventory. "Coolant supply from cold-leg" "coolant outlet at hot-leg" are needed for it. The advantage depressurization induces cools core. rod enhances effect because top dome...

Autoxidation kinetics is an important oxidation-stability index of endothermic hydrocarbon fuels. In this work, the autoxidation lab-made No. 1 fuel (EHF-1, with 25 ppm butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT)) was studied from two aspects temperature and dissolved oxygen by accelerated oxidation. When kinetic equations are combined Arrhenius equation at different temperatures, it estimated that storage period EHF-1 air isolation 20 °C 12.5 years. BHT did not work for chain reaction low concentration...

Reverse electrodialysis (RED) is the most promising technique based on ion exchange membranes for harvesting salinity gradient energy. In present study aimed to explore sensitivity of RED stack performance, different concentrations NaCl were prepared and used simulate concentrated seawater that river water at 298 K. Some major factors including repeating unit pairs, flow velocity feeding concentration investigated. When positive effect by increase open-circuit voltage greater than negative...

LOCA analysis of the supercritical-pressure light water cooled thermal reactor with downward-flow rods (called Super LWR) are carried out to clarify its characteristics. 1–100% hot/cold leg breaks analyzed. At cold-leg large break, excessive core heat-up is mitigated by automatic depressurization system (ADS) during blowdown because induces coolant flow. The inventory in top dome and effectively used for cooling. After blowdown, slowly re-flooded low-pressure ECCS like PWR. highest cladding...

The use of nanomedicines for cancer treatment has been widespread. Fullerenes have significant effects in the solid tumors. Here, we are going to study hydroxylated fullerene C60(OH)n(n = 18-22) on chronic myeloid leukemia cell proliferation and investigate its toxicity. results showed that C60(OH)n (n at low concentrations (less than 120 μM) not only had apparent toxic side effects, but also promoted growth K562 cells, while a high concentration different degrees inhibition cells. When is...

Superhydrophobic surfaces have attracted intensive attention in the antifouling field because of their excellent anti-bioadhesive performance and environmental friendliness. However, promising met great challenges poor mechanical robustness under harsh serving conditions. Herein, an organic-inorganic composite strategy, that silane-modified TiO2 nanoparticles are compounded into porous framework provided by stable indurative aluminum oxide film, is proposed to address common serious problem...

The thermal performance of a nuclear reactor core contains various engineering uncertainties. These uncertainties often arise from calculation, measurement, instrumentation, manufacture, fabrication and data processing. Statistical techniques are useful to evaluate combine these in the design reactors. In this paper, statistical method is developed employed supercritical pressure light water (Super LWR) This referred as Monte Carlo Thermal Design Procedure for Super LWR (MCSTDP). uses...

Coke breeze is added as fuel in sintering process. The size distribution of coke one the important factors, which plays an role achieving proper Therefore, effects on performance are investigated. Experimental results show that, practical production, we should adjust according to different production strategy (aimed for best strength or highest productivity, others). For example, aimed sinter with maximum tumble strength, be 57.20% −1 mm, 25.63% 1–3 11.17% 3–5 and 6.00% +5 mm. Then increases...
