A widely tunable narrow-linewidth laser consisting of a sampled-grating distributed Bragg reflector (SG-DBR) and an external silica-based multi-period-delayed feedback (MPDF) photonic circuit is fabricated experimentally demonstrated. The measured results show that 58-nm lasing wavelength tuning range together with more than 40 dB side-mode suppression ratio can be achieved. Notably, among the range, all linewidths remain below 1 kHz, which are narrowed by three orders magnitude compared to...

A secure fiber-optic communication system based on Internet-accessible multipath transmission of ciphertext fragment (MTCF) technology is proposed and demonstrated in this paper. By performing algorithm encryption the transmitted data before randomly assigning them to multiple channels corresponding different wavelengths or Internet protocols (IPs), long-distance can be realized. field trial experiment over 125 km between Beijing Xiongan has been successfully undertaken, results show that...

We report a photonic approach to generate background-free multi-format dual-band microwave signals based on single modulator, which is suitable for high-precision and fast detection of radars in complex electromagnetic environments. By applying different radio-frequency electrical coding the polarization-division multiplexing Mach-Zehnder modulator (PDM-MZM), generation dual-chirp or phase-coded pulse centered at 10 15.5 GHz experimentally demonstrated. Furthermore, by choosing an...

We propose and demonstrate a high-precision phase noise analysis method based on photonic-assisted microwave shifter (MPS) without nonlinear distortions (NPD). The proposed scheme utilizes dual parallel Mach Zehnder modulator (DPMZM) an optical bandpass filter (OBPF) to implement the photon-assisted shifter. To avoid additional frequency induced by fluctuations of carrier, we employ dispersion compensation photonic delay line as component. MPS operates in single sideband modulation (OSSB)...

The operation of the device is affected by increase in temperature caused rough electrodes surface thinfilm lithium niobate modulator. We have developed simulation models to analyze relationship between roughness and maximum gold examine influence snowball radius area ratio on temperature. results indicate that both affect change, with being greater than within range 2-6nm a 1.6-2.5, respectively.

Researchers have developed a uniform grating DFB with an integrated active optical feedback waveguide (UG-AFDFB) to enhance the modulation speed of direct lasers (DMLs) while reducing costs based on identical layer designations. However, this design has difficulties in obtaining high single mode yield (SMY) and low relative intensity noise (RIN) as result strong caused by (AFW) random phase facet phase.
