Evaluation of the safety and efficacy renal denervation with a standard irrigated cardiac ablation catheter (SICAC) in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients refractory hypertension. Twenty-four were included treated SICAC. Denervation was performed by single operator following technique. Patients CKD on stages 2 (n = 16), 3 4), 4 4). Data obtained at baseline monthly until 180th day follow-up. Baseline values blood pressure (mean ± SD) 186 19 mmHg/108 13 mmHg office, 151 18 mmHg/92 11 24 h...

Twenty‐seven patients with resistant hypertension and chronic kidney disease were treated by renal sympathetic denervation (RSD) followed for 12 months. Patients retrospectively divided into controlled uncontrolled blood pressure (BP) groups. Increases in mean estimated glomerular filtration rate ( eGFR ) found at months 1, 3, 6, the group P <.0001, every time point). The change after was 18.54±8.15 mL /min/1.73m 2 higher =.0318). In baseline <45 /min/1.73 m , responders (with an...

Idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension is defined as a group of diseases characterized by progressive increase in vascular resistance that results right heart failure and premature death. Although therapies exist to improve hemodynamic instability symptoms, there no cure for it remains life-threatening condition. A recent study performed China reported, the first time, effect denervation on functional capacity hemodynamics patients with refractory idiopathic hypertension. We report case...

Background: Telecardiology may be a useful support in diagnosis and management of chest pain. Objective: Evaluate the application telecardiology to differential pain patients admitted Emergency Care Units. Method: Observational, retrospective documental study 5,816 with supposedly cardiological twenty two Units state Rio de Janeiro. Data were tabulated analyzed by Excel® software, using simple descriptive statistics, from database Cardiology Consultancy Nucleus. Results: Diagnostic...

A 62-year-old male patient underwent catheter ablation for outflow tract ventricular tachycardia (VT). During radiofrequency in the right tract, VT morphology abruptly changed and its exit shifted to left coronary cusp. Ablation at this site terminated rendered it non-inducible. Accurate analysis of 12-lead ECG during may reveal shift as a possible explanation unsuccessful VT.

To evaluate in vivo the feasibility and safety of renal sympathetic denervation (RSD) with different catheters various radiofrequency protocols.Twenty-two pigs were included. First 2 enrolled a protocol using one catheter power from 5 W to 20 W. The next 10 underwent RSD three four RF-power settings W, 8 12 minute per lesion (Protocol 1). following (Pigs 13 22) five types (including Symplicity® catheter), powers two minutes RF-application 2). Abstract Background Renin-angiotensin-system inhibitors (RASIs) have been suggested as an upstream therapy for selected AF patients; however, the evidence in surgical setting is limited. Objective We aimed to evaluate role of preoperative RASIs prevention postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF) and adverse events patients undergoing cardiac surgery. Methods In this collaborative pooled-analysis, both randomized nonrandomized controlled trials comparing with no treatment on incidence POAF...
