Growth of the posterior silk gland and biosynthesis fibroin during fifth larval instar silkworm, Bombyx mori, have been studied. In accordance with exponential increase in wet weight gland, amounts DNA, RNA, protein, lipids per animal increased rapidly early stage (0-96 hr). Biosynthesis fibroin, on contrary, mainly proceeds later (120-192 Electron microscopical observations shown that, very (0-12 hr), a number free ribosomes exist cytoplasm. Rough endoplasmic reticulum (ER) closely spaced...

1. A cell culture system of C2C12 myotubes was established as a model the muscle. With aid this model, half-lives intracellular proteins well activities and mRNA levels proteasomes (26S 20S) cathepsins (B, L, H) were examined in presence various amounts cytokines. 2. It found that 100 units/ml recombinant human interleukin-6 somewhat shortened half-life long-lived to 23.79 ± 1.55 h (control: 25.60 1.87 h). When 1% fetal bovine serum contained medium replaced by 0.5 mg/ml albumin, more...

Cytolytic processes in posterior silk gland cells of the silkworm, Bombyx mori, during metamorphosis from larva to pupa have been studied. During this stage, wet weight and amounts RNA protein decrease rapidly markedly, while amount DNA decreases slowly slightly. The ultrastructural changes observed at beginning prepupal stage consist appearance or increase number autophagosomes containing endoplasmic reticulum (ER), "early autophagosomes" as we called them, which seem be gradually...

We investigated the genetic polymorphisms of CYP1A1, CYP2E1 and GSTM1 in Japanese esophageal cancer patients (n = 53) with a histological diagnosis squamous-cell carcinoma, to determine whether susceptibility is associated these polymorphisms. There were no significant differences frequency distribution any one 3 between 132 healthy controls. The genotype distributions tobacco smokers or alcohol drinkers also quite similar for male age at onset was conclude that are unlikely be susceptibility.

The development of the cells in posterior silk gland silkworm, Bombyx mori, during fourth larval instar has been studied. In early stages this instar, wet weight and amounts RNA, DNA, protein per animal increase logarithmically until they reach a stationary state at about 72 hr. At around 96 hr larvae enter molting state, which lasts for 24 ecdysis. Towards end molt stage, growth is resumed. Electron microscopical observation shows that intermolt stage cytoplasm filled with free ribosomes...

Immune and inflammatory blood parameters have been reported as biomarkers for treatment efficacy. This study aimed to establish a predictive model that includes patients with metastatic breast cancer treated eribulin. A total of 297 were enrolled, their baseline neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, absolute lymphocyte count (ALC), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), prognostic nutritional index (PNI), lymphocyte-to-monocyte (LMR), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), C-reactive protein (CRP), clinical...

C2C12 myoblasts fuse to form multinucleated myotubes and express muscle specific proteins during differentiation. To elucidate developmental regulation of intracellular proteolytic systems, enzymatic activities, protein mRNA levels proteasomes (20S 26S) lysosomal cathepsins (B, L, H) were examined. Myoblasts differentiated fully 6 days after starting In this process, the 26S proteasome activity decreased, while 20S increased. Expression subunits (RC2, RC8) regulatory components (S4, S7) was...

Background: We have previously reported that the addition of nucleosides and a nucleotide mixture (OG‐VI) to total parenteral nutrition (TPN) prevents TPN‐induced intestinal mucosal atrophy results in increased cathepsin activities under TPN. The aims present study are examine effects OG‐VI on barrier functions clarify whether cathepsins can be used as new marker function. Method: Male Wistar rats were divided into three groups: FED (food ad libitum), TPN (a standard solution), OG (OG‐VI...

Objective: The temporal modulation transfer function (TMTF) has been proposed to estimate the resolution abilities of listeners with normal hearing and loss. TMTF data patients would be useful for clinical diagnosis adjusting instruments at fitting sites. However, practical application is precluded by long measurement time conventional method, which requires several points. This article presents a new method measure that only two Design: Experiments were performed loss demonstrate two-point...
