본 연구는 FUND모형을 이용하여 우리나라의 제주도를 대상으로 해수면 상승에 따른 경제적 피해 비용 및 최적 해안 방어 비율을 도출하였다. 대부분의 기존 연구들은 기후변화에 상승의 이를 방어하기 위한 분석하기 연구 대상을 전 세계나 대륙 중심으로 분석하여 개별 국가의 대응 정책에 활용하기에는 한계가 있다. 따라서 연구에서는 우리나라를 시도로 우리나라에 적용하기 지표 값들을 도출하고 토대로 분석하였다. 2100년까지의 분석기간 동안 시나리오별로 범람 면적은 약 2.01%~2.25%이고 토지 가치로는 6.4%~7.2%로 상대적으로 높아 지역이 경제활동이 활발한 지역임을 보였다. 추정된 보면 제주시가 87.16%~87.92%로 서귀포시 73.32%~75.47%보다 높다. 비록 제주시의 해안선의 길이가 서귀포시에 비하여 더 길어 비용이 필요하지만 규모가 크기 때문에 가치가 큼을 보여주었다. 하구역 생태계의 지속가능성을 평가하기 위해서 최근에는 구동·압력·상태·영향·반응(DPSIR) 모형에 바탕한 지표체계가 자주 사용된다. 그러나 담고 있는 정보를 보다 간결하게 표현하기 위해서는 이러한 지표체계를 단일 지수로 전환하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 몇 가지 방법들을 고찰하였다. 특히 DPSIR 모형에서는 구동 및 압력 지표가 상태 영향 지표에 중요한 결정요인임을 가정하고 있으므로, 이를 바탕으로 대한 예측모형을 구성하는 가능하고, 이 모형으로부터 조기경보시그널에 해당하는 지수를 추출할 수 방안을 제시하였다. 그리고 지수 전환 실제 데이터에 적용할 때 생기는 이슈들을 검토하기 위해 한국의 주요 중 하나인 금강하구역에 적용하여 조기경보지수를 분석하였다.

본 연구에서는 기후변화에 따른 해수면 상승이 우리나라 동해안 및 남해안 일대에 미치는 경제적 영향과 이를 방어하기 위한 최적 해안 방어비율을 광역시 도별로 분석하였다. 위하여 FUND(The Climate Framework for Uncertainty, Negotiation and Distribution) 모형에 우리나라에 적합한 지표들을 적용하여 해당 도의 면적 대비 예상 범람 지역 비율을 분석한 결과를 보면 지리적 차이가 있어 부산광역시는 시나리오에 따라 3.19% 내외로 상대적으로 높은 비율로 추정되었으나 강원도는 0.1% 낮게 추정되었다. 피해비용도 경제활동이 활발한 부산광역시, 울산광역시 경상남도에서의 피해비용은 매우 높게 나타났다. 그러나 방어비율 추정 해안선의 길이가 짧고 피해비용이 큰 부산광역시와 울산 광역시는 각각 98% 내외, 92% 추정되었고 피해 규모는 크나 방어비용 또한 추정된 경상남도에서는 최적해안 방어비율이 78%~79%로 이에 반하여 강원도의...
