ABSTRACT Objectives Treatment efficiency is considered an important clinical variable in orthodontic practice; therefore, the aim of this study was to compare between different Class II compensatory treatment approaches. The extraction 2 maxillary premolars compared molar distalization with First distaliser indirectly anchored mini‐implants. Materials and Methods A retrospective sample 31 patients divided into two groups. Group 1: premolar extractions; 18 a mean initial age 14.3 ± 1.3 years....
Supernumerary teeth are those that exceed the usual dental formula. There different classifications depending on their anatomical location, shape and number. The objective of this study was to determine prevalence impacted supernumerary in a sample panoramic radiographs from three Latin American countries.A retrospective cross-sectional with quantitative approach, which radiographic observation analysis 2000 radiographs, provided by radiological centers Peru, Colombia Bolivia were performed....
To evaluate the changes after maxillary molar distalization in Class II malocclusion using miniscrew-anchored cantilever with an extension arm.The sample included 20 patients (9 male, 11 female; mean age 13.21 ± 1.54 years) malocclusion, treated cantilever. Lateral cephalograms and dental models obtained before (T1) (T2) were evaluated Dolphin software 3D Slicer. Superimposition of digital regions interest on palate was performed to three-dimensional displacement teeth. Intragroup change...
Abstract Cleft lip and/or palate (CLP) is the most common congenital craniofacial anomaly and requires bone grafting of alveolar cleft. This study aimed to develop a novel classification algorithm assess severity defects in patients with CLP using three-dimensional (3D) surface models demonstrate through an interpretable artificial intelligence (AI)-based decisions provided by classifier. Cone-beam computed tomography scans 194 were used train test performance automatic defect. The shape,...
Abstract Objective To compare the clinical effectiveness of V‐bend bonded retainers (BR) versus vacuum‐formed (VFR) regarding their capacity to maintain treatment stability and survival rates after 12 months. Materials Methods Patients finishing orthodontic were randomly allocated into two groups. The BR group received maxillary mandibular BRs in lingual surfaces anterior teeth. VFR VFRs right fixed appliances removal. patients evaluated at four time‐points: removal (T0), 3 (T1), 6 (T2)...
Main Points• Premolar extractions in Class I and II patients favored third molar angulation eruption.• The molars showed a more upright position after treatment, regardless of the malocclusion type or extraction protocol.• Third can influence posterior eruption.
Objective This manuscript describes strategies for assessment of precision several diagnostic artificial intelligence (AI) tools in orthodontics, available open-source image analysis platforms, as well the use three-dimensional (3D) surface models and superimpositions. Results The advances described this present perspectives on controversies whether AI is smarter than clinicians may replace human clinical decisions. A thorough orthodontic diagnosis requires comprehensive 3D interrelationships...
ABSTRACT Objectives: To compare the skeletal, dentoalveolar, and soft tissue changes in Class II malocclusion patients treated with Jones Jig Distal Jet distalizers followed by fixed appliances. Materials Methods: The experimental groups comprised 45 subjects divided into two groups. Group 1 consisted of 25 Jig, group 2 20 Jet. 3 19 untreated subjects. Cephalograms were analyzed before after orthodontic treatment. For intergroup comparisons, one-way analysis variance post hoc Tukey tests...
The aim of this article is to report a case series miniscrew-anchored maxillary protraction therapy (MAMP). Two male patients presenting with Class III malocclusion were included in report. treatment consisted hybrid expander and two miniscrews at the anterior region mandible anchoring elastics for protraction. Effective length, ANB angle Wits appraisal increased after treatment. Slight dental effects observed. MAMP produced substantial skeletal might be good option growing patients.
The aim of this study was to compare the soft tissue changes and post-treatment status after complete fixed functional appliance non-extraction maxillary premolar extraction treatment in patients with Class II division 1 malocclusion. sample consisted 96 lateral cephalograms 48 patients, divided into two groups. Group 23 treated associated appliances, initial final mean ages 12.71 15.16 years, respectively, time 2.44 years overjet 6.83 mm. 2 comprised 25 premolars 13.05 15.74 2.67 7.01...
