Abstract Biofilms are microbial communities of surface-attached cells embedded in a self-produced extracellular matrix. They have been found to play role wide variety infections, including catheter-related urinary tract and bloodstream and, therefore remain significant source morbidity mortality among the world's population. Recently, much attention has devoted prevention biofilm formation on implant surfaces. Nanomaterials such as graphene, characterized by antibacterial activity low...
Abstract – The incidence of Streptococcus mutans, lactobacilli and Actinomyces was examined in root surface dental plaque from 24 subjects with caries exposed surfaces as a consequence periodontitis but without caries. Plaque collected the most posterior teeth each quadrant: group carious lesions buccal surfaces. There were significantly higher proportions S. mutans samples taken suffering than level A. viscosus/naeslundii that found group, difference not statistically significant.
We studied synthesis and crystal growth of Bi2Te3, Bi2Se3 Bi2Te2Se compounds by means vertical Bridgman method.Crystals were grown from stoichiometric melts under different molar ratio Bi:Te, Bi:Se or Bi:Te:Se.The obtained crystals characterized X-ray diffraction analysis, energy dispersive spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force the Hall effect measurements. Some samples demonstrated insulating bulk behavior, resistivity versus temperature measurements.
The defect structure investigations of selected ferroelectric niobates such as Sr x Ba 1‐x Nb 2 O 6 (SBN), Ca (CBN) and mixed (Ca 0.28 0.72 ) y (Sr 0.61 0.39 1‐y (CSBN) single crystals grown by the Czochralski method have been performed means synchrotron conventional diffraction topography scanning electron microscopy. A new characteristic phenomenon has indicated in CSBN crystals, which consisted occurrence two different systems segregation fringes forming a crossing pattern. first them is...
Studies on the use of energetic ion beams for material modication have been initiated originally within Manhattan project and continuously developed since then. The consecutive steps were devoted to studies implantation into semiconductors, metals, ceramics and, most recently, organic materials. One latest areas applications is elastomers, commonly known as rubbers. In present paper results structural functional properties irradiated elastomers will be presented with special emphasis materials...
The influence of the size crystalline regions on mechanical properties irradiated oxides has been studied using a magnesium aluminate spinel MgAl2O4.The samples characterized by different dimensions domains, varying from sintered ceramics with grains few micrometers in up to single crystals, were used experiments. The at room temperature 320 keV Ar 2+ ions fluences reaching 5 × 10 16 cm -2 .Nanomechanical (nanohardness and Young's modulus) measured nanoindentation technique resistance crack...
Abstract Three different types of samples InP nanowires, i.e. undoped, doped with Si and Te, were grown measured using SEM Raman spectroscopy. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) images showed differences in the length, homogeneity curvature nanowires. The most homogenous wires, perpendicular to surface, those doped. They also shortest. spectroscopy that nanowires had lowest Full Width at Half Maximum (FWHM) TO band, which suggests highest crystal quality these wires. For wires inhomogeneous,...
Due to their ecological and financial aspects, water-based lubricants may be competitive in use for production sustainable technology. The paper presents tribological measurements results the ball-flat friction node with reciprocal movement. element manufactured of 316L stainless steel 100Cr6 bearing cooperated under mixed lubricants. Firstly, graphene flakes graphite were applied as lubricant additives, both used a similar reference material. Secondly, reduced coefficient wear elements....
