Onion (Allium cepa L.) is an economically valuable crop, but its large, repeat-enriched genome makes assembly difficult and limits molecular breeding biological studies. Herein, we present a chromosomal-level reference of the double-haploid onion line DHW30006, constructed by combining PacBio, Illumina, Hi-C sequencing approaches. The assembled totaled 12.77 Gb, with 65,730 gene models, was anchored to eight pseudo-chromosomes covering 12.07 Gb (94.5%), scaffold N50 1.40 Gb. DHW30006...

The soil-borne pathogenic Ralstonia solanacearum species complex (RSSC) is a group of plant pathogens that economically destructive worldwide and has broad host range, including various solanaceae plants, banana, ginger, sesame, clove. Previously, Korean RSSC strains isolated from samples potato bacterial wilt were grouped into four pathotypes based on virulence tests against potato, tomato, eggplant, pepper. In this study, we sequenced the genomes 25 selected these pathotypes. newly...

The Ralstonia solanacearum species complex (RSSC) can be divided into four phylotypes, and includes phenotypically diverse bacterial strains that cause wilt on various host plants. This study used 93 RSSC isolates responsible for potato in Korea, investigated their phylogenetic relatedness based the analysis of phylotype, biovar, range. Of isolates, twenty-two were identified as biovar 2, eight 3, sixty-three 4. Applied to phylotype scheme, 3 4 belonged I, 2 IV. classification was consistent...

Hypsizygus marmoreus (Beech mushroom) is a popular ingredient in Asian cuisine. The medicinal effects of its bioactive compounds such as hypsin and hypsiziprenol have been reported, but the genetic basis or biosynthesis these components unknown. In this study, we sequenced reference strain H. (Haemi 51,987-8). We evaluated various assembly strategies, result Allpaths PBJelly produced best assembly. resulting genome was 42.7 Mbp length annotated with 16,627 gene models. A putative...

Ralstonia solanacearum is the causal agent of devastating bacterial wilt disease in many high value Solanaceae crops. R. secretes around 70 effectors into host cells order to promote infection. Plants have, however, evolved specialized immune receptors that recognize corresponding and confer qualitative resistance. In model species Arabidopsis thaliana, paired RRS1 (resistance 1) RPS4 Pseudomonas syringae 4) cooperatively effector PopP2 nuclei infected cells. an acetyltransferase binds...

A PCR method has been developed for the pathovar-specific detection of Pseudomonas syringae pv. tagetis, which is causal agent bacterial leaf spots and apical chlorosis several species within Compositae family. One primer set, PSTF PSTR, was designed using a genomic locus derived from an amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) produced 554-bp amplicon 4 isolates P. tagetis. In DNA dot-blot analysis with product as probe, positive signal identified in only These results suggest that...

Peronospora destructor is an obligate biotrophic oomycete that causes downy mildew on onion (Allium cepa). Onion important crop worldwide, but its production affected by this pathogen. We sequenced the genome of P. using PacBio sequencing platform, and de novo assembly resulted in 74 contigs with a total contig size 29.3 Mb 48.48% GC content. Here, we report first high-quality sequence comparison assemblies other oomycetes. The very useful resource to serve as reference for analysis isolates...
