Abstract Changes in water storage of the large freshwater lakes Arid Central Asia (ACA) have significant implications for regional social and ecological systems. Here we present a lake‐level record past 2,000 years from Bosten Lake, body region, using sedimentary Cladoceran microfossil. The results suggest that lower lake level higher salinity occurred during cold, high‐precipitation periods 280–450 AD 1570–1850 AD, warm, low‐precipitation period 450–1570 AD. findings show on centennial...

The Triassic Sadaigoumen porphyry Mo deposit is located in the northern margin of North China Craton (NCC). To constrain formation this deposit, we analyzed in-situ major, trace, and Pb isotopic compositions pyrite, as well isotopes molybdenite whole rocks. can be divided into five stages. Stages 1 2 are characterized by massive development magnetite with minor pyrite. Stage 3 main mineralization stage, much chalcopyrite deposited sub-stage 3.1 veins, only developed 3.2. 4 quartz–pyrite...

Abstract The northeastern Qinghai‐Tibetan Plateau (QTP) of China is located at the triple junction Asian winter and summer monsoons westerlies, where paleoclimatic evolution has an important scientific significance for recognizing spatial‐temporal pattern in past predicting environmental change future. Nevertheless, framework Holocene moisture variation related mechanisms remain controversial, owing to complex hydroclimatic conditions triggered by landform large mountain‐arid basin. Here, we...

Aeolian sediments accumulated along the desert-loess transition zone of Tengger Desert include heterogeneous textures and complex component structures in their grain-size distributions (GSD). However, sources these aeolian have not been resolved due to lack large reference GSD sample datasets from adjacent regions that contain various types sediments; such could be used for fingerprinting based on properties. This knowledge hinders our understanding mechanism dust releases effects forcing...

This paper addresses the surface and Holocene aeolian deposits in southeastern Mu Us Desert, N. China, systematically analysing evolution of geochemical characteristics sand–palaeosol sequences their environmental significance. Our results indicate that components had similar material sources, sediment transport deposition processes study region, which were dominated by SiO 2 , Al O 3 Na O. In weathering process Jinjie (JJ) profile, Na, K, Si presented slight leaching migration general,...

The record of the Holocene millennial‐scale climate variations from aeolian deposit around monsoonal boundary zone in northern China is poorly understood because desert sediments are usually scattered and geological archives discontinuous. Here, we conducted magnetic, sedimentological, geochemical analyses palaeosol‐aeolian sand sequence eastern Horqin dune field northeastern China, which documented detailed history climatic during past 7.0 ka. results indicate that became more humid 7.0−5.0...
