The performance of a new single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) scanner with cadmium-zinc-telluride (CZT) solid-state semiconductor detector (Discovery NM 530c; D530c) was evaluated and compared to conventional Anger-type SPECT dual-detector camera (Infinia). Three different phantom studies were performed. Full width at half maximum (FWHM) measured using line sources placed locations in cylindrical phantom. Uniformity phantoms 3 diameters (80, 120, 160 mm). Spatial resolution...

Background: Myocardial perfusion SPECT (MPS) traditionally requires the patient to be in supine position, but diaphragmatic attenuation of inferior wall reduces test specificity. The aim this study was assess feasibility combined MPS and prone positions using a novel cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) camera. Methods Results: A total 276 consecutive patients with suspected/known coronary artery disease (CAD) who underwent single-day 99mTc-tetrofosmin or 99mTc-sestamibi stress/rest CZT SPECT, were...

Despite its clinical importance, adolescent subthreshold depression remains a largely neglected topic. The aims of this study were to accurately identify the natural course depressive symptoms and risk for developing major episode (MDE) in late adolescents with over 1 year.

Social anxiety is characterized by an excessive fear of being embarrassed in social interactions or performance situations. Emotional support can help to decrease diminish distress. Such may play important role at different points interaction. However, it unclear how the beneficial effects are represented brains socially anxious individuals. To explore this, we used same paradigm previously examine emotional on pain caused exclusion. Undergraduates (n = 46) showing a wide range scores...

It has been demonstrated that negatively distorted self-referential processing, in which individuals evaluate one's own self, is a pathogenic mechanism subthreshold depression considerable impact on the quality of life and carries an elevated risk developing major depression. Behavioural activation (BA) effective intervention for depression, including However, brain mechanisms underlying BA are not fully understood. We sought to examine effect neural during other perspective processing...

The purpose of this study was to evaluate a personalized protocol with diluted contrast material (CM) for coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA).One hundred patients suspected artery disease underwent retrospective electrocardiogram-gated CTA on 256-slice multidetector-row CT scanner. In the CM (n=50), optimal scan timing and dilution rate were determined by bolus scan, 20% (5ml/s during 10s) being considered suitable achieve target arterial attenuation 350 Hounsfield units (HU)....

In general, emotion is known to enhance memory processes. However, the effect of on associative and underling neural mechanisms remains largely unexplored. this study, we explored brain activation during an task that involved encoding retrieval word face pairs. The pairs consisted either negative or positive words with neutral faces. Significant hippocampal was observed both retrieval, regardless whether positive. Negative emotionality differentially affected hemodynamic responses in...

Background: No significant effect of psychological treatment has been reported from meta-analysis subthreshold depression patients and control subjects at 1-year follow-up. However, behavioral activation is a simpler more cost-effective than cognitive therapy. The primary purpose this study was to assess by comparison an assessment-only group whether the effects program for depressive symptoms can persist up follow-up without use antidepressants or other psychotherapy. Patients methods: Late...

Recently, two vendors have introduced novel SPECT scanners with solid-state semiconductor detectors: Discovery NM530c (D530c) and D-SPECT utilizing the same cadmium zinc-telluride (CZT) detectors, a different combination of high-sensitivity multi-pinhole or parallel-hole collimator which focuses on myocardium. The physical performance is dramatically higher than that conventional Anger cameras, however, 2 CZT cameras are inherently different. Spatial resolution contrast-to-noise ratio better...

Perspective taking is defined as the social cognitive function of imagining world or oneself from another's viewpoint. Previously, we reported that behavioral activation increased dorsal medial prefrontal cortex (dmPFC) during other perspective self-referential processing for positive words in subthreshold depression, but did not report whether metacognitive was related to dmPFC activation. Therefore, sought test relationship between and an individual's evaluation perspective. Thirty-four...
