Abstract Purpose Several complications may arise in patients wearing complete prosthetic appliances, including denture‐associated infections and mucosal stomatitis due to Candida species. This study evaluated the activity of anti‐ agents denture adhesive cytotoxicities these preparations for primary human gingival epithelial (GE) keratinocytes. Materials Methods The activities antimicrobial peptides, lipids, antifungal against C. albicans ATCC 64124 or HMV4C were assessed microdilution...
This clinical report describes designing and fabricating a single-retainer resin-bonded fixed dental prosthesis with chair-side computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing system. The whole procedure, from tooth extraction to final placement of the prosthesis, was completed in one day, single clinic visit. No complications were found at 2-year follow-up after restoration, satisfactory functional esthetic results achieved.
This report describes a technique integrating facial and dental scanners for treatment planning execution of tooth-borne full-mouth reconstruction (FMR) with zirconia fixed prostheses. A partially edentulous female adult presented generalized worn dentition in the incisal occlusal surfaces. The patient accepted option FMR solution using fully digital workflow. An intraoral scan (IoS) both arches scans collected initial clinical situation. diagnostic wax-up was generated as part plan, models...
The underlying causes of denture stomatitis may be related to the long-term use adhesives, which predispose individuals oral candidiasis. In this study, we hypothesize that antimicrobial peptides and antifungal antibiotics have diminished anti-Candida activities in adhesive. To show this, nine five with without 1.0% adhesive were incubated Candida albicans strains ATCC 64124 HMV4C radial diffusion assays. gels adhesive, HNP-1, HBD2, HBD3, IP-10, LL37 (only one strain), histatin 5...
