Some regions of Brazil have particularly high levels mercury (Hg) emissions due to industrial activities, and their fish species may therefore suffer contamination through bioaccumulation. In this paper we assess Hg in the muscle, liver, gills blood two different catfish collected from Cananéia Santos-São Vicente estuaries, São Paulo State, Brazil. Fish most polluted site (Santos-São Vicente) showed higher median concentrations both (Cathorops spixii - liver: 1530 µg Kg-1, muscle: 327 Kg-1...

A material is perfectly homogeneous with respect to a given characteristic, or composition, if there no difference between the values obtained from one part another. Homogeneity usually evaluated using analysis of variance (ANOVA). However, requirement that populations data be processed must have normal distribution and equal variances greatly limits use this statistical tool. more suitable test for assessing homogeneity RMs, known as "sufficient homogeneity", was proposed by Fearn Thompson....

A homogeneity study in the preparation of a fish candidate certified reference material is reported. In present study, was examined by flow injection analysis cold vapour atomic absorption spectrometry technique (FIA-CV-AAS). Total mercury and methylmercury were studied this study. Univariate variance (ANOVA) performed for all analytes. The results evaluated using an F-test, which demonstrated no significant difference between-bottle results. It indicative that homogeneous. provide...

Pectic polysaccharides containing apiose, xylose, and uronic acids are excellent candidates for boron fixation. Duckweeds the fastest-growing angiosperms that can absorb diverse metals contaminants from water have high pectin content in their cell walls. Therefore, these plants be considered (B) accumulators. This work aimed to investigate relationship between B assimilation capacity with apiose wall of Spirodela polyrhiza subjected different boric acid concentrations. Plants were grown 7 10...
