Quantum yields of firefly bioluminescence reactions were determined for beetle luciferases from the three main families luminous beetles emitting different colors. yield (QY) was significantly correlated with luminescence spectrum. The green light-emitting luciferase Brazilian click beetle, Pyrearinus termitilluminans, whose spectrum had shortest peak wavelength all investigated, highest QY (0.61). Mutant analyses active site-substituted Pyrocoelia miyako showed that, although k(cat)...

A photoresponsive organic light-emitting device combining blue-emitting electroluminescent (EL) diode with titanyl phthalocyanine as a near-infrared (IR) sensitive layer was fabricated. By irradiating near-IR light to the device, blue emission occurred in lower drive voltage (between 5 and 12 V). The result indicates that acts switch and/or an up-converter from (1.6 eV) (2.6 eV). EL response times of rise decay using trigger were 260 330 μs, respectively. At higher (above V), enhancement...

Spectroscopic features of various thiophene/phenylene co-oligomers with molecular sizes and shapes have been investigated in the form thin films. Of these compounds, shorter oligomers assume vertical alignment more readily than longer oligomers. The latter oligomers, however, tend to exhibit when deposited under a high vacuum at small deposition rate. films this were examined by θ−2θ X-ray diffraction incident-angle-dependent polarized absorption spectroscopy. A sharpened spectral line...

An organic light-emitting diode containing titanyl phthalocyanine (TiOPc) and tris-(8-hydroxy quinoline) aluminum (Alq 3 ) layers has been fabricated. The device exhibits green emission from the Alq emissive layer under ambient conditions. Below turn-on voltage, is instantaneously switched on by laser irradiation at 650 nm, indicating that can be used as a red-to-green light converter. Above greatly enhanced irradiation, while current-voltage characteristics are significantly modified....

In response to the strong demand for a total spectral radiant flux (TSRF) standard from domestic lighting manufacturers, such scale has been realized in visible range by means of relative gonio-spectroradiometric method at National Metrology Institute Japan (NMIJ). Our employs irradiance as well luminous intensity reference standards. We have investigated several models quartz-halogen lamps manufacturers with respect their stability and decided set TSRF. carefully selected sufficient lamp...

Porous nickel-phosphorus (NiP) black surfaces exhibit excellent low reflectance in the visible and near-IR regions. Through use of a model surface morphology composition, was numerically simulated by three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain method to determine origin reflectance. In agreement with experimental results, simulations showed spectrally flat, quite <0.1% over entire visible-near-IR region under certain conditions. The depended strongly on thickness nickel oxide layer...

We have developed a polarization-independent reflection-type silicon photodiode trap detector and characterized its performance by laser beam-based measurement. Three dimensional CAD-based modeling enables us to optimize interior design, resulting in minimizing each distance between centers of adjacent photodiodes rotating 45° along normal axis. It is expected simple ray-tracing simulation also confirmed experimentally that the incorporating with large active area exhibits largest acceptance...

Linear oligosilanes (R(SiR2)10R), permethyldecasilane (R = CH3), and perpropyldecasilane C3H7), were vacuum-deposited onto quartz substrates under various conditions. Molecular orientation in the deposited thin films was investigated by X-ray diffractometry absorption spectroscopy with a varying incident angle to substrate. Two types of highly ordered multilayered structures, one molecular normal substrate other oblique orientation, observed at room temperature. When −150 °C, on hand,...

The absorption spectrum the dispersion showed a broad band at ca. 420 nm, characteristic plasmon in nanoparticles. On other hand, nanoparticle monolayers both on water and quartz had an 470 which coincided with position reflection bands. Surface reflectance toluene also peak wavelength nm.
