Abstract The low permeability of silty hydrate reservoirs in the South China Sea is a critical issue that threatens safe, efficient, and long‐term gas production from these reservoirs. Hydraulic fracturing potentially promising stimulation technology for such low‐permeability Here, we assess potential depressurization horizontal well assisted by hydraulic using numerical simulation according to field data at site SH 2 this area. In addition, number wells drilled discussed if commercial be...

Sand production is one of the main obstacles restricting gas extraction efficiency and safety from marine natural hydrate (NGH) reservoirs. Particle migration within NGH reservoir dominates sand behaviors, while their relationships were rarely reported, severely constrains quantitative evaluation risks. This paper reports optical observations solid particle micrometer to mesoscopic scales conditioned gravel packing during depressurization-induced dissociation for first time. Theoretical...

Hydrate dissociation is often accompanied by the formation of nanobubbles. Knowledge effects nanobubbles on hydrate essential for understanding dynamic behavior phase change and improving gas production efficiency. Here, molecular dynamics simulations were performed to study methane kinetics with without a pre-existing nanobubble. The results show that cluster in liquid dissociates layer-by-layer. This process shown be independent temperature nanobubble presence at simulation conditions....

Raising the in situ decomposition rate of natural gas hydrate and increasing contact area are two main ways to raise productivity hydrate. An exploitation technique based on large borehole with multi-lateral branches (LB & MB) was proposed this paper. This is mainly intended for clayey silt reservoir South China Sea, its purpose alleviate sand output from formation maintaining stability greatly increase reservoir. In paper, following aspects were expounded: definition basic geometric...
