Objectives: Gait and mobility problems are difficult to treat in people with Parkinson’s disease. The Rehabilitation Disease: Strategies for Cueing (RESCUE) trial investigated the effects of a home physiotherapy programme based on rhythmical cueing gait gait-related activity. Methods: A single-blind randomised crossover was set up, including 153 patients disease aged between 41 80 years Hoehn Yahr stage II–IV. Subjects allocated early intervention (n = 76) received 3-week using...

Background. Turning has been associated with instability, falls, and freezing in people Parkinson’s disease (PD). Objective. To investigate the effect of different modalities rhythmic cueing on duration a functional turn freezers nonfreezers. Methods. Abstract The impact of dual tasks on gait in Parkinson's disease (PD) reveals lack automaticity and increased cognitive demands. We explored which characteristics explained walking speed with without task interference if they reflected the demands task. In 130 people PD, performance was quantified home using accelerometers allowing estimates single (difference between task). Multiple regression analysis used to explore effect 12 representing four domains (personal, motor symptoms, cognitive,...

Climate change could irreversibly modify Southern Ocean ecosystems. Marine ecosystem model (MEM) ensembles can assist policy making by projecting future changes and allowing the evaluation assessment of alternative management approaches. However, projected in total consumer biomass from Fisheries Ecosystem Model Intercomparison Project (FishMIP) global MEM ensemble highlight an uncertain for Ocean, indicating need a region-specific ensemble. Enterobacter cloacae attached to drinking water distribution particles was subjected chlorination. Attachment resulted in the protection of these organisms from disinfection. This effect found be dependent upon both level chlorine system and attachment time. The results obtained this study indicate that may play an important role coliform outbreaks.

Abstract Background: Independence of certain gait characteristics from dopamine replacement therapies highlights its complex pathophysiology in Parkinson's disease (PD). We explored the effect two different cue strategies on relation to their response dopaminergic medications. Patients and Methods: Fifty people with PD (age 69.22 ± 6.6 years) were studied. Participants walked without cues presented a randomized order. Cue were: (1) internal (attention increase step length) (2) external...

The passive sinking flux of particles, termed the biological gravitational pump (BGP), is an important component ocean’s carbon pump. In addition, carbon-rich particles are actively injected to depth through diel vertical migration (DVM) micronekton and mesozooplankton from surface oceans’ twilight zone (200 m – 1000 depth). This known as mesopelagic-migrant (MMP). We investigated magnitude MMP at one subantarctic two polar sites in summer by assessing particulate dissolved export below 200...
