To determine the prevalence of ocular surface disease (OSD) in patients with glaucoma using topical intraocular pressure (IOP)-lowering therapy. This prospective observational study enrolled primary open-angle or hypertension who were on a IOP-lowering medication regimen. Enrolled completed index (OSDI) and OSDI scores (0-100, 0 representing no symptoms) calculated for each patient. Medical history, demographics, concomitant information also collected.Overall, 630 from 10 sites participated....

In seven eyes of four patients, retinal hemorrhages were observed following trabeculectomy under both local and general anesthesia. The diffuse, deep superficial, many had white centers when first observed. Two patients young healthy male myopes undergoing primary trabeculectomy. third patient was a man with chronic uveitis. fourth an elderly open angle glaucoma who acute rise in intraocular pressure cataract extraction. Intraocular visual results appeared unaffected by the hemorrhages....

Precis: In pooled phase III analyses, once-daily netarsudil 0.02% resulted in intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction that was noninferior to twice-daily timolol 0.5%, with minimal treatment-related serious or systemic adverse events (AEs). Ocular AEs were generally tolerable. Purpose: The purpose of this study assess the efficacy and safety Rho kinase inhibitor patients open-angle glaucoma ocular hypertension. Patients Methods: Pooled analysis data from ROCKET-1 4 studies ( PM ) primary...

To evaluate 5-year safety and efficacy of 2 trabecular micro-bypass stents versus prostaglandin as initial stand-alone treatment for newly diagnosed, treatment-naive primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG).Prospective, randomized, controlled, multi-surgeon clinical trial.Enrolled eyes (n = 101) were phakic had a confirmed POAG diagnosis, normal angle anatomy, mean diurnal intraocular pressure (IOP) 21 to 40 mmHg, vertical cup-to-disc (C:D) ratio ≤0.9.Eyes randomized (1:1) receive either (iStent...

To describe characteristics and outcomes of combined pars plana vitrectomy Baerveldt tube insertion procedure from 2005 to 2010 in eyes with neovascular glaucoma.Seventy-nine patients (89 eyes) ≥2 months follow-up were included. Outcome measures visual acuity, intraocular pressure (IOP), number glaucoma medications, complications. Changes mean logMAR IOP, medications compared by a two-tailed t-test.Mean patient age was 69.0 years. Forty-three (54%) male. Mean time 19.9 months. Most common...

Objective
To evaluate the ocular safety of short-term use vigabatrin to treat cocaine and/or methamphetamine addiction.
Methods
Individuals who were actively using eligible for enrollment. Enrolled subjects scheduled comprehensive eye examinations at beginning and end study. Visual field testing was performed baseline 1 week, 4 weeks, 8 month or more after discontinuing vigabatrin. Twenty-eight received least dose vigabatrin; however, only 20 continued beyond initial...
