ABSTRACT The costs of doing two things were assessed for a group healthy older adults and who tested at least 6 months after stroke. A baseline language sample was compared to samples collected while the participants performing concurrent motor tasks or selective ignoring tasks. The relation between ability to identify the pronunciation of irregularly spelled words (from AMNART) and performance on six verbal subtests WAIS-R was investigated in 34 non-brain-damaged adults. A correlation r = .74 emerged Verbal IQ identification errors.
