Few-layered graphene (FLG) reinforced Al-10 wt% Si-2 Cu (Al10Si2Cu) matrix composites were fabricated via a powder metallurgical route. FLG powders produced in an originally designed DC arc reactor discharge method. Al, Si, and subjected to high-energy ball milling at different durations produce ternary Al alloy with homogeneously dispersed FLG, bulk subsequent uni-axial compaction pressureless sintering. The effects of varying amounts duration on the properties samples investigated....
Powder metallurgy (P/M) was utilized to produce copper (Cu) matrix composites reinforced with few-layered graphene (FLG), which produced by electric arc discharge (EAD). The structural and mechanical properties of the were investigated depending on milling time content. It determined in SEM TEM analyses that FLG uniformly dispersed Cu matrix. Compared pure Cu, an increase hardness approximately 31.8% provided for 0.3 wt% FLG/Cu composite sintered after 5h milling. Furthermore, addition FLG,...
Functionally graded materials (FGMs) are advanced engineering developed due to their superior properties where traditional composite not sufficient.Nowadays, the development and application of these for potential areas have attracted much more attention.Aluminum (Al) is preferred physical mechanical such as lightweight, high specific strength, modulus, low thermal expansion coefficient in applications.Graphene attracts great attention worldwide its mechanical, electrical properties.In...
Aluminum based alloys have been widely used in the automotive, aircraft and defense applications because of good thermal electrical conductivity, high tensile strength-to-weight ratio, hardness, ductility properties.Graphene, is an allotrope carbon, attracts great attention worldwide due to its sp 2 -hybridized two-dimensional honeycomb structure, low weight, thermal, electrical, mechanical properties. In present study, purity few-layered graphene (FLG) which was synthesized via electric arc...
