Few-layered graphene (FLG) reinforced Al-10 wt% Si-2 Cu (Al10Si2Cu) matrix composites were fabricated via a powder metallurgical route. FLG powders produced in an originally designed DC arc reactor discharge method. Al, Si, and subjected to high-energy ball milling at different durations produce ternary Al alloy with homogeneously dispersed FLG, bulk subsequent uni-axial compaction pressureless sintering. The effects of varying amounts duration on the properties samples investigated....

We report the additive manufacturing of a nickel superalloy metal matrix composite (Ni-MMC) using Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF). Composite powders were prepared by high-speed blender declustering and ball milling SiC nanowires (2 vol%) base Inconel 718 alloy powders, which produced homogeneous decoration on surfaces particles. Analysis as-printed specimens revealed dissolution during laser melting, leading to in-situ formation Nb- Ti-based silicide carbide nanoparticles. These formed...

We report additive manufacturing of a nickel superalloy metallic matrix composite (Ni-MMC) using Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF). Nanoceramic-containing powders were prepared by high-speed blender declustering and ball milling as-received SiC nanowires (2 vol%) base Inconel 718 alloy powders, which produced homogeneous decoration on the surfaces particles. Analysis as-printed specimens revealed dissolution during laser melting, leading to in-situ formation Nb- Ti-based silicide carbide...
