Abstract The Vera C. Rubin Observatory’s LSST Camera (LSSTCam) pixel response has been characterized using laboratory measurements with a grid of artificial stars. We quantify the contributions to photometry, centroid, point-spread function size, and shape measurement errors due small anomalies in LSSTCam CCDs. main sources those are quantum efficiency variations area induced by amplifier segmentation boundaries “tree-rings”—circular silicon doping concentration. This study stars projected...

ABSTRACT Cosmological analyses using galaxy clusters in optical/near-infrared photometric surveys require robust characterization of their content. Precisely determining which galaxies belong to a cluster is crucial. In this paper, we present the COlor Probabilistic Assignment Clusters And BAyesiaN Analysis (Copacabana) algorithm. Copacabana computes membership probabilities for all within an aperture centred on redshifts, colours, and projected radial probability density functions. We use...

A utility theory of entanglement is formulated, based on the von Neumann--Morgenstern theorem. As a specific example, protocol for measurement--induced studied, in which amount obtained depends random result measurement an ancilla. It shown that maximization requires non--trivial strategy. The results are especially useful when interaction between ancilla and systems to be entangled weak.
