Since the description of its eight species, Mesoamerican genus Phrynidius Lacordaire (Cerambycidae, Lamiinae, Apomecynini) has not been comprehensively studied, with only a few distributional records published in recent years. In this work, four new species are described from Chiapas, Mexico: P. cristinaesp. nov. municipality Escuintla, diminutussp. San Cristobal, jonesisp. Trinitaria, and tuberculatussp. Jaltenango. An updated taxonomic key illustrations also provided.

New distribution records from Mexico are presented for 66 species of Cerambycidae. Choriolaus fulveolus (Bates, 1885), Strangalia melampus Plinthocoelium schwarzi (Fisher, 1914) and Neoclytus torquatus LeConte, 1873 recorded the first time in Mexico.
