The relationship between evolution in grain boundary characteristics and intergranular corrosion properties of cold rolled 443 ultra-pure ferritic stainless steel was investigated. results showed that low-angle (LA) boundaries, special boundaries (SGB), high-angle (HA) had a high sensitivity after deformation reducing acid medium. In oxidative medium, the LA SGB resistance comparison to HA their inhibitory effect on continuance dynamic recrystallization (RHA) can improve RHA boundaries.

Zn is an important negative electrode material in our battery industry and next-generation based batteries are prospective to compete with lithium-ion on cost energy density. Corrosion a severe challenge facing electrodes, which can decrease the capacity, cyclability shelf life of batteries. More attention should be paid corrosion developing rechargeable high density In this mini review, fundamental electrochemical behavior electrodes aqueous environment retrospected. Then main strategies...

Abstract This study investigates the influence of sigma phase in 446 stainless steel on pitting process a Br- environment after heat treatment, as well its relationship with (Ti, Nb) primary precipitates. We find that chemical dissolution precipitates takes top priority, while formation stable tends to occur around at depletion region size wider than least 1.5μm. Furthermore, mesh-like along grain boundaries limits lateral growth surface, increasing tendency for vertical growth, eventually...

In this paper, we studied the initiation of crevice corrosion hydrogen-charged 2507 and investigated effect different Na2MoO4 concentrations on corrosion. It was found that inhibits adverse hydrogen enhances inhibition addition, initiates in austenite phase. While improves resistance both phases, sites changed reverse, initiating ferrite

The role of ethanol (C2H5OH) in pitting corrosion behavior AISI 316L austenitic stainless steel was investigated aqueous ethanolic solution with chloride. susceptibility and surface morphology a series ethanol-containing solutions were examined using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), optical microscopy 3D stitching, immersion tests potentiodynamic polarization measurements. Results demonstrated that the concentration impacted little on passive film stability while it dramatically...

Abstract The relationship between specimens with different machined surface roughness and pitting resistance was explored using the critical temperature (CPT), potential ( E p ), FeCl 3 immersion tests. Compared arithmetic mean deviation of contour (Ra), depth–width ratio could characterize mathematical parameters more simply. With an increase in ratio, CPT 304 stainless steel decreased, average corrosion rate increased, number pits pit sizes increased. A larger led to a effective diffusion...

The accumulation of marine biological growth has irreversible negative effects on shipping and coastal fisheries. In this paper, a new antibacterial nanofiller—triazole fluoroaromatic hydrocarbon−modified nano−zinc oxide (ZnO−APTES−TRF)—was prepared by Cu(I)−catalyzed azide–alkyne click chemical reaction. modification nano−ZnO with triazole ring hydrocarbons were testified FT−IR, XPS, EDS. grafting rate ZnO−APTES−TRF can reach 32.38%, which was verified the TGA test. mixed zinc acrylate...

Abstract In this study, Sn 2+ solution simulation method is used to investigate the effect of on pitting corrosion behavior tin-containing ferritic stainless steel 430LX. It found that correlation between E pit and [Sn ] opposite critical potential temperature (CPT) ]. After potentiostatic polarization at a specific potential, correlations become same. The CPT experiment after series steps proves exhibits positive influence only when pH within certain range. All complicated phenomena can be...

A criterion for characterizing the intergranular corrosion sensitivity of 445J2 ultra-pure ferritic stainless steel was established using microstructure analysis and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The differences in characterization results by EIS double loop-electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation test were analyzed. Mo-rich intermetallic compound did not cause depleted chromium zones sensitization temperature range 500°C to 700°C but caused a surrounding elastic stress...

The corrosion behavior of β-Sn and intermetallic compounds in Ag–28Sn alloy was investigated by potentiodynamic polarization bipolar electrochemistry tests. results show that the Na2SO4 solution Ag4Sn preferentially corrode at high potential low potential; NaCl solution, corrodes both potential. To clarify mechanism selective corrosion, an Ag–Sn coupled electrode assembled characterized using test. Based on potential–pH diagram, is elucidated.
