Quantitatively revealing the response of carbon stocks to land use change (LUCC) and analyzing vulnerability ecosystem stock (ECS) services are great significance for maintaining cycle ecological security. For this study, China’s Guizhou Province was study area. Land data in 2000, 2010, 2020 were selected explore impacts LUCC on multiple scenarios by combining PLUS InVEST models then ECS services. The results show that forest plays an important role improving karst plateau mountainous areas....

In the southwest karst areas of China, changes in overlying vegetation due to ecological restoration cause considerable carbon sequestration (CS). Assessing CS potential this is crucial for promoting optimization and regulation regional restoration(VR) policies. This study based on net primary productivity, maximum coverage average coverage. Using VR effectiveness index (Ej) quantitatively evaluate spatiotemporal characteristics effectiveness, quantifying pattern using photosynthetic model,...

Abstract In southwestern China karst rocky desertification (a process of land degradation involving serious soil erosion, extensive exposure basement rocks, drastic decrease productivity and the appearance a desert‐like landscape) results from irrational use on fragile, thin soil. Soil particles in Guizhou plateau were accumulated predominantly residues left behind after dissolution carbonate thickness layer is related to amount argillaceous substances lost rock. This paper examines spatial...

The relocation of local residents from ecologically vulnerable areas, with the aim alleviating poverty through spatial displacement, often referred to as Poverty Alleviation Relocation (PAR), is recognized a promising strategy tackle challenges 'spatial traps.' Nevertheless, current quantitative research regarding extent PAR's impact on ecological restoration remains limited. This study focuses Guizhou Province and aims quantify PAR region's carbon sink capacity. Upon examining alterations...

This study investigates the correlation between optical vegetation indices (NDVI, EVI, and DVI) in Xixiu Modern Efficient Vegetable Agricultural Demonstration Park using Sentinel-1A radar Sentinel-2A imagery. Results show that VH back-scattering coefficients exhibit most significant with across time periods, while VV, RVI, CR weaker or inconsistent correlations. Landscape shape index (LSI) patch size significantly influence these relationships, larger LSI sizes enhancing VH, NDVI/DVI.

Understanding the complex relationships among ecosystem services (ESs) is crucial for their joint management, particularly in vulnerable karst areas where ES dynamics are intricate. This study, focusing on Nanpan and Beipan River Basin (NBPRB), examines seven key ESs—food supply (FP), water (WS), soil retention (SR), carbon storage (CS), purification (WP), habitat quality (HQ), landscape aesthetics (LA)—over 1985-2020, to analyze spatiotemporal trends trade-offs synergies sustainable...
