In this study, chitosan and gelatin materials incorporated with grape seed (Vitis vinifera L.) (VSE) jabuticaba peel (Plinia cauliflora) (PPE) extracts were developed potential application as food coatings. It was evaluated how the concentration of their addition order in polymeric matrix affect its properties. Samples VSE presented a higher total phenolic content also more elastic behavior than samples PPE. The effect over viscosity opposite for extracts, lower obtained when extract added...

In this study, a potential hard tissue substitute was mimicked using collagen/mangosteen porous scaffolds. Collagen extracted from Tilapia fish skin and mangosteen the waste peel of respective fruit. Sodium trimetaphosphate used for phosphorylation these scaffolds to improve nucleation sites mineralization process. Phosphate groups were incorporated in collagen structure as confirmed by their attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) bands. The addition increased...

Abstract The physicochemical properties of nanoparticles (NPs) directly influence the colloidal stability and bio‐nano interface, which makes study these factors extremely important for NPs applicability. Here, we report pH ionic strength in size, surface charge, antimicrobial activity chitosan/rhamnolipid (C/RL‐NPs), synthesized by mixing C RL proportion 1:1, with dropwise addition TPP (sodium tripolyphosphate) molar ratio 1:2.5:1.3, respectively. obtained were resuspended different...

Abstract Functionalized single‐wall carbon nanotubes ( f ‐SWCN) are dispersed in chitosan films by self‐assembly of both components aqueous media. This form is a promising nanofiller to achieve nanocomposites with refined thermal, mechanical and surface features. In this study, we investigated the influence functionalized concentration on resulting properties structures. molecular scale polymeric matrix due electrostatic interactions between components. The thermal have been characterized...

In vitro biocompatibility tests have been carried out with model cell lines to demonstrate that near surface implantation of silver in Glassy Polymeric Carbon (GPC) can completely inhibit attachment on implanted areas while leaving adjacent unaffected. Patterned ion permits precise control tissue growth medical applications GPC. We shown or argon assisted deposition inhibits GPC, a desirable improvement current cardiac implants.

Although eyedrops are nowadays the most used administration form of ophthalmic drugs, they present several problems: imply repeated applications, lead to significant drug losses, and may cause undesirable side effects, as a result rapid absorption into blood stream. Several attempts have been made develop new delivery systems, which increase residence time drugs in eye improve its bioavailability. Therapeutic soft contact lenses (SCLs) seem constitute promising alternative due prolonged with...

This work presents a study of the self-heating effect (SHE) on –n type UTBOX devices. Thinner buried oxide indicated reduction degradation caused by SH phenomenon as shown drain current and transient time. Addressed to that, smaller output conductance variation with frequency was also related where higher is required for SHE emergence. The ground plane region considered devices indicating be favorable in suppress SHE.
