Underutilized lignocellulosic biomass, such as aquatic plants, faces sustainability challenges due to energy-intensive treatments. This study investigates the use of Bacillus sp. for biological pretreatment water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) aiming improve efficiency alkyl levulinate (AL) production, which are valuable compounds used fuel additives, solvents, and plasticizers. The with resulted in stable bacterial growth a significant increase cellulose content (up 27%) compared untreated...
A Preyssler-type heteropolyacid supported on silica, synthesized and characterized by FTIR, was tested for levulinic acid (LA) esterification with n-butanol under microwave-assisted batch reaction conditions. The optimal conditions were found to be 40 mg of catalyst, a 5:1 n-butanol/LA molar ratio at 160 °C 3 h, resulting in 77% conversion 100% selectivity. catalytic effect observed low temperatures (100 °C), the microwave high (160 °C). Yield levulinate improved (82%) CuSO4 as dehydrating...
Abstract Hydrotalcite materials (HTs) were synthesized by a facile and swift combined mechanochemistry/coprecipitation approach, their catalytic activity was evaluated compared with conventionally hydrotalcites (co-precipitation method) in the Knoevenagel condensation between furfural ethyl cyanoacetate/malononitrile. Characterization results clearly demonstrate that proposed mechanochemical/coprecipitation approach provides an improvement crystallinity, morphology, tunable basicity,...
Abstract The Biginelli reaction is performed in an efficient, simple, solvent‐free procedure, using a small amount of H6P2W18O62 · 24H2O, reusable heteropolyacid catalyst with Wells–Dawson structure. Both aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes, different β‐dicarbonyl compounds urea or thiourea, were used as starting materials. Seventeen examples dihydropyrimidinones dihydropyrimidinethiones prepared by heating the reactants either refluxing acetonitrile absence solvent. Operational simplicity, use...
A series of trifluoromethylated hexahydropyrimidines was synthesized using Preyssler heteropoly acid H14NaP5W29MoO110 encapsulated in a silica framework as the catalyst under solvent-free conditions. This synthesis requires short reaction times (1.5 h) and 80 °C conditions to obtain good excellent yields 18 hexahydropyrimidine derivatives. embedded matrix, unlike bulk or supported on silica, is insoluble polar media such acetone, ethanol, methanol,...
Abstract The synthesis of 5,5′‐[oxybis(methylene)]bis‐2‐furfural (OBMF) from 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural (5‐HMF) was studied using bulk and alumina‐supported Preyssler heteropolyacids (HPAs). formation OBMF related to the amount Brønsted acid sites, lowest yield obtained with supported HPAs. However, Lewis acidity HPA on Al 2 O 3 favored 2,5‐dimethylfurane. effects solvent, catalyst loading, temperature, reaction time selectivity 5‐HMF were optimize production HPAs; a 84 % at 5 h 343 K. These...
