We have searched for a deeply bound kaonic state by using the FINUDA spectrometer installed at e+e− collider DAΦNE. Almost monochromatic K−’s produced through decay of ϕ(1020) mesons are used to observe K− absorption reactions stopped on very thin nuclear targets. Taking this unique advantage, we succeeded detect kaon-bound K−pp its two-body into Λ hyperon and proton. The binding energy width determined from invariant-mass distribution as 115+6−5(stat)+3−4(syst) MeV 67+14−11(stat)+2−3(syst)...

Evidence for the neutron-rich hypernucleus $_{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}^{6}\mathrm{H}$ is presented from FINUDA experiment at $\mathrm{DA}\ensuremath{\Phi}\mathrm{NE}$, Frascati, studying $({\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+},{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}})$ pairs in coincidence ${K}_{\mathrm{stop}}^{\ensuremath{-}}+^{6}\mathrm{Li}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}_{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}^{6}\mathrm{H}+{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$ production reaction followed by...

The FINUDA experiment performed a systematic study of the charged mesonic weak decay channel $p$-shell $Λ$-hypernuclei. Negatively pion spectra from were measured with magnetic analysis for first time ${^{7}_ΛLi}$, ${^{9}_ΛBe}$, ${^{11}_ΛB}$ and ${^{15}_ΛN}$. shape $π^{-}$ was interpreted through comparison distorted wave calculations that take into account structure both hypernucleus daughter nucleus. Branching ratios $Γ_{π^{-}}/Γ_{tot}$ derived converted to rates $Γ_{π^{-}}$ by means known...

The decay of Λ-hypernuclei without π emission, known as Non-Mesonic Weak Decay (NMWD), gives an effective tool to investigate ΔS=1 four-baryon interactions. It was theoretically suggested that the two-nucleon induced mechanism could play a substantial role in reproducing observed NMWD rates and nucleon spectra, but at present no direct evidence such has been obtained. FINUDA experiment, exploiting possibility detect both charged neutral particles coming from hypernucleus decay, allowed us...

This letter is concerned with the study of $K^-_{stop}A\rightarrow \pi^\pm\Sigma^\mp A'$ reaction in p-shell nuclei, i.e., $^{6,7}Li$, $^9Be$, $^{13}C$ and $^{16}O$. The $\pi^\pm\Sigma^\mp / K^-_{stop}$ emission rates are reported as a function $A$. These discussed comparison previous findings. ratio $\pi^-\Sigma^+/\pi^+\Sigma^-$ nuclei found to depart largely from that on hydrogen, which provides support for large in-medium effects possibly generated by sub-threshold $\Lambda(1405)$....

Previous studies of proton and neutron spectra from Non-Mesonic Weak Decay eight Λ-Hypernuclei (A=5–16) have been revisited. New values the ratio two-nucleon one-proton induced decay widths, Γ2N/Γp, are obtained single spectra, Γ2N/Γp=0.50±0.24, coincidence Γ2N/Γp=0.36±0.14stat−0.04sys+0.05sys, in full agreement with previously published ones. With these values, a method is developed to extract width units free Λ width, Γp/ΓΛ, without resorting Intra Nuclear Cascade models but by exploiting...

An experimental study of the $K^-_{stop}A\rightarrow \Sigma^- p A'$ reaction on $A=^6$Li, $^7$Li, $^9$Be, $^{13}$C and $^{16}$O $p$-shell nuclei is presented. The data were collected by FINUDA spectrometer operating at DA$\Phi$NE $\phi$-factory (LNF-INFN, Italy). Emission rates for in mentioned are measured compared with few existing data. spectra several observables discussed; indications Quasi-Free absorptions a $(np)$ pair embedded $A$ nucleus can be obtained from missing mass distributions.

Differential cross sections for π−p and π+p elastic scattering were measured at five energies between 19.9 43.3 MeV. The use of the CHAOS magnetic spectrometer TRIUMF, supplemented by a range telescope muon background suppression, provided simultaneous coverage large part full angular range, thus allowing very precise relative section measurements. absolute normalisation was determined with typical accuracy 5%. This verified in measurement proton scattering. show some deviations from phase...
