It is predicted that the thickness of a coating has major effects on substrate in terms mechanical and thermal properties. In this study, an Al2O3-ZrO2-SiO2 slurry was prepared as material, which formed alumina-zirconia-mullite composite after sintering. The coated zirconia to generate compressive stress due mismatch coefficient expansion (CTE). A series samples with different thicknesses from ∼10 μm ∼200 were investigate thickness. residual stress, conductivity, CTE, Young's modulus...
In this study, the prestressed coating reinforcement method was employed to create kyanite-coated zirconia toughened alumina (ZTA) ceramics. Due mismatch of coefficient thermal expansion (CTE) between and substrate, compressive residual stress introduced in coating. The effects on mechanical properties ZTA have been demonstrated. Results show that flexural strength ceramics improved by 40% at room temperature compared addition, dependence has also discussed. And results gradually diminished...
