By interpreting the full wavefield, waveform inversion has potential to become a key tool interpret seismic data acquired in complex geological settings. However, its application requires low frequencies and large offsets avoid ending up local minimum. This approach been illustrated with marine sets acoustic inversion. Acoustic can also be applied land when acquisition pre‐processing are planned correctly. To demonstrate relevance of this dedicated approach, we invert set down 1.5 Hz 20 km...

ABSTRACT Velocity model building and impedance inversion generally suffer from a lack of intermediate wavenumber content in seismic data. Intermediate wavenumbers may be retrieved directly data sets if enough low frequencies are recorded. Over the past years, improvements acquisition have allowed us to obtain with broader frequency spectrum. To illustrate benefits broadband acquisition, notably recording frequencies, we discuss land acquired Inner Mongolia, China. This set contains 1.5–80...

ABSTRACT Dense, wide‐aperture and broad frequency band acquisition improves seismic imaging potentially allows the use of full waveform inversion for velocity model building. The cost dense acquisitions however limits its applicability. Blended or simultaneous shooting could lead to a good compromise between acquisition, although cross‐talk sweeps may reduce capabilities. Onshore, is achieved with distance separated sweeping because shots are easily when processing focuses on pre‐critical...

Water injection for oil displacement is one of the most effective ways to develop fractured-vuggy carbonate reservoirs. With increase in number rounds water injection, development effect gradually fails. The emergence high-pressure capacity expansion and technology allows increased production from old wells. Although has been implemented practice nearly 10 years reservoirs, its mechanism remains unclear, curve not apparent. In past, evaluating could only be done by measuring...
