Thymus vulgaris L. (family Lamiaceae) is an aromatic medicinal plant well-known for its essential oil and therapeutic values. It thrives across Europe, Western Asia, the Mediterranean, Northwestern Africa. This study aims to investigate effect of climate change on chemical composition, antioxidant, antidiabetic activities vulgaris essential oil. Essential oils were extracted from three distinct vulgaris samples (S1 – S3) cultivated under different climatic...
This study investigated the effects of varying water stress levels on Rosmarinus officinalis essential oils (EO). Three samples (S1, S2, and S3) were cultivated under different (40, 60, 80%). Increased led to changes in primary secondary metabolites, EO contents, physical properties. Antioxidant activity varied, with S2 exhibiting highest IC50 value. In terms antidiabetic activity, showed robust α-amylase inhibition, while S3 displayed a commendable influence. For α-galactosidase had...
Abstract The corrosion of metals poses a threat to the economy, environment, and human health due undesirable reactions contaminated products. Corrosion inhibitors, including natural products, can play key role in protecting metallic materials, especially under challenging conditions. In this study, roots Inula viscosa plant were examined for their ability act as inhibitors 1 M hydrochloric acid (HCl) solution. Different extracts evaluated inhibition capacity HCl effectiveness different was...
In the context of addressing climate change, it becomes essential to anticipate how will affect plant biodiversity and way plants adapt physiologically morphologically challenging environmental circumstances. To gain a comprehensive understanding adverse climatic conditions, we conducted year-long study with three distinct water stress levels: 25% (sample 1), 50% 2), 75% 3).The findings revealed general decrease in primary metabolites (including proteins, carbohydrates, dietary fiber, lipids,...
Abstract Diabetes mellitus is a global health problem requiring innovative approaches for effective management. Natural compounds derived from medicinal plants offer promising avenues due to their diverse biological activities. The aim of this study was assess the inhibitory effects Cedrus atlantica extracts on enzymes α-amylase and α-glucosidase, which play crucial role in regulation postprandial glucose levels, as well investigate phytochemical composition antioxidant capabilities. Aqueous...
Geographical origin and environmental factors have a significant impact on the constituents biological properties of medicinal aromatic plants.Herein, Inula viscosa plant grown in El Menzel -Morocco were investigated with focus geographical province solvent type mass yield activities extracts.Chemical composition was characterized by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS).Antimicrobial activity determined using disk diffusion method microdilution test against eight clinical fungal,...
