We theoretically and experimentally investigate the temperature responses of two liquid-filled polarization maintaining photonic crystal fibers (PM-PCFs). The guidance mechanism PM-PCFs is a hybrid modified total internal reflection bandgap (PBG) principles. According to wavelength shifting band edges, sensitivity -10.033 nm/°C from 38 °C 45 was achieved in glycerol-filled PM-PCF, whereas an ultrahigh up -76.197 59 63 obtained toluene-filled PM-PCF. High sensitivities stem high transmission...
Broadband supercontinuum (SC) spanning more than an octave was obtained in tapered seven-core photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) upon pumping with a 150-fs mode-locked fiber laser. The appearance of the second zero dispersion wavelength section PCF limited solitons' self-frequency shift. simulations and experiments suggested that unique group velocity could change relative different spectral components, which resulted some compression pulse time domain. It can be found defects between solitons...
We report the broadband supercontinuum (SC) generation in a tapered seven-core photonic crystal fiber (PCF). The introducing of section taper waist dramatically alters group velocity and making SC flatter.
We propose a multi-core photonic crystal fiber with W-shaped effective index profile to achieve low interference among cores. The fiber's optical properties were simulated by using the vector finite element method (FEM). has crosstalk around -50 dB at 1550 nm after 100 km propagation and model field area of MCPCF's single core is five times as large ordinary single-mode fiber's. MCPCF supports ultra wide-band transmission over 400-2400 nm.
Abstract We report a case of 58-year-old female with Stanford type A aortic dissection sparring the donor aorta 2 years after heart transplantation. Lumbar spine magnetic resonance examination for low back pain discovered which was confirmed by following computed tomography angiography. The patient received surgical treatment including total arc replacement and thoracic endovascular repair recovered well.
A sensitive temperature sensor was demonstrated using boron-doped polarization-maintaining photonic crystal fiber (PM-PCF) as a Sagnac interferometer (SI). This PM-PCF combines both the geometric birefringence introduced by PCF structure design and stress stress-applying parts. However, we found that dominates total of numerical analysis. In experiments, fabricated exhibited highest sensitivity −1.83 nm/°C within wide range 28~76 °C. The mainly derived from SI. These findings provide some...
Over 1000 nm supercontinuum was obtained in a simple open cavity pulsed laser. Nanosecond pulses generation can be realized without any reflectors or modulators based on the stimulated Brillouin scattering effect.
