Reports the development of a new technique-optothermal transient emission radiometry (OTTER)-for studying optical absorption, thermal diffusivities and associated properties in opaque materials. In essence, technique makes use information content observed by means wideband infrared detector, following pulsed excitation material. Some preliminary observations, including study several commercial pigments are presented.
Hyperspectral imaging has emerged as a promising analytical method of artwork due to its potential in combining non-invasive capabilities and allowing the survey entire (or large area the) surface an artwork, which is highly significant application for historic tapestries. This project deployed high-resolution ClydeHSI Art Scanner, was used with both push-broom visible very-near infrared (VNIR; 400–1000 nm) near (NIR; 900–1700 hyperspectral cameras. Initial testing focused on...
Summary: The relative bioavailability and pharmacokinetics of felbamate (FBM) after a single oral dose 10 once‐daily doses 60 mg/kg were investigated in adult pediatric dogs both sexes. aged 4–6 weeks 1–2 years, respectively. Analysis variance (ANOVA) was performed on the parameters among all groups between first last doses. No sex‐related differences pharmacokinetic observed. FBM significantly less as compared with that dogs. Rapid overall elimination drug appears to be responsible for...
The authors report a new type of instrument, the Edinburgh Instruments Model 2997 differential fluorometer, for measurement decay fluorescence anisotropy. instrument incorporates three multiplexed detection channels simultaneous two polarised decays and excitation pulse, using time-correlated single-photon counting. This arrangement corrects automatically temporal intensity fluctuations spark source. A study probe 1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene (DPH) in white oil reveals that can measure...
High groove density reflection gratings placed at grazing incidence in the extreme off-plane mount offer increased performance over conventional in-plane mounts x-ray. We present initial efficiency test results from grating evaluation facility University of Colorado. The are holographically ruled, ion-etched with radial profiles that were developed and fabricated by Jobin-Yvon Inc.
Laser sensing enables aerial detection of natural gas pipeline leaks without need to fly through a hazardous plume. This paper describes adaptations commercial laser-based methane technology that provide relatively low-cost lightweight and battery-powered leak sensors. The underlying is near-infrared Standoff Tunable Diode Absorption Spectroscopy (sTDLAS). In one configuration, currently in operation for surveillance, sTDLAS combined with automated data reduction, alerting, navigation, video...
Abstract In this study, a painted beehive panel from the collection of Slovene Ethnographic Museum was examined with respect to its material composition aim reveal painting technique. Due state degradation due outdoor weathering (UV irradiation, rainfall, extreme temperature and humidity fluctuations), as well past conservation interventions, object represented complex analytical challenge. We aimed for non-invasive techniques (FTIR in reflection mode, Raman spectroscopy hyperspectral...
Physical properties such as thermal diffusivity, film thickness, bonding or contact with substrate, of thin, thermally insulating surface films on conducting substrates can be studied using opto-thermal transient emission radiometry (OTTER). The method is non-destructive, non-contacting and makes observations the free film, without requiring access to substrate. It illustrated a study hard soft anodic oxide aluminium substrates, dyed black.
Changes of physical and chemical properties paint films resulting from accelerated weathering have been detected using a new measurement technique: opto-thermal transient emission radiometry (OTTER). Opto-thermal decay times were found to decrease with exposure, the effect being most pronounced in early stages degradation. The technique promises provide useful means monitoring film deterioration.
Abstract— The luminescence emission of singlet molecular oxygen ( 1 O 2 ) generated by bacteriopheophytin a, a near‐infrared‐emitting photosensitizer, was measured using new high‐sensitivity spectrometer system for time‐ and spectral‐resolved near‐infrared detection. instrument uses low energy pulsed nitrogen laser (40 μJ per pulse) to excite the photosensitizer optically is capable time resolution 40 ns data point an response function 350 FWHM (full width at half maximum). use low‐energy...

Hyperspectral imaging has over the last thirty years developed into a power analytical tool for determination of chemical and other properties. As result, there been strong development in both design spectral cameras applications which they are used. This led to diversity way fundamental instrument performances characterized, reported, understood. this makes it difficult compare instruments application-specific needs, or commercial market needs. In 2018, IEEE P4001 group was formed...
In Astronomy field, grisms or transmission gratings replicated on a prism are widely used to transmit in line the spectrum. To work infrared range, classical present important limitations: epoxy layer, necessary for replication, absorbs IR light, and addition this layer constitutes problem when instrument is at low temperature. Jobin-Yvon company, collaboration with LAM Marseille, France, designed manufactured grating engraved directly into fused silica substrate. The efficiency of 60% 70%...
The P4001 standard defines characteristics for hyperspectral camera performance. will also include guidelines measurement of these characteristics. ambition to give a complete set performance tends require an extensive tests. An important aspect the work is therefore devise test protocols that are time efficient and have moderate requirements on equipment. Work underway define tests radiometric performance, co-registration, spatial spectral resolution, as well stray light. can be carried out...
In the manufacture of printed circuit boards (PCB), various tests must be performed to ensure minimal defects are present in final product. This is often done through visual inspection, using both X-rays as well visible light, with being superior due ability capture internal features and defects. However, health safety risks lead other, safer alternatives desirable if they can provide comparable results. This work evaluates differences between a range near infrared (NIR) wavelengths NIR...
Recently, spectral imaging techniques such as Multispectral (MSI) and Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) have gained importance in the field of heritage conservation. This paper explores analytical robustness quantitative chemical for Islamic characterization by focusing on effect different measurement processing parameters, i.e. acquisition conditions calibration accuracy collected data. will provide a better understanding technique that can measure change collections through imaging. For model,...
