Gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GISTs) are the most common primary mesenchymal neoplasia in gastrointestinal tract, although they represent only a small fraction of total malignancies adults (<2%). GISTs can be located at any level tract; stomach is location (60-70%), contrast to rectum, which rare (4%). When GIST invades into adjacent prostate tissue, it simulate cancer. In this study, we report on case comprising unexpected collision between rectal tumour and prostatic adenocarcinoma. We...
Background: Diffuse uterine leiomyomatosis is a rare, benign entity and approximately 30 cases have been described previously. Case: A 42-year-old woman who complained of abdominal pain had pelvic ultrasound scan showing mass. During the operation, surgeon observed that both ovaries, broad ligament, pelvis contained various nodules striking size. On sectioning, uterus ovaries multiple elastic consistency; microscopically, all consisted smooth muscle tissue. Conclusion: Leiomyomatosis may...
To correlate the cytologic grade of breast carcinoma with expression E-cadherin/catenin system molecules and presence metastasis in regional lymph nodes.Aspirate smears were examined together histologic sections from corresponding neoplasms taken 100 patients invasive ductal carcinoma. In 50 cases, > or = 1 metastatic nodes identified. Cytologic grading was performed using Robinson method. Immunohistochemical E-cadherin alpha-, beta- gamma-catenin studied.A statistically significant...
