Photolysis of 1-(2-adamantylidene)-1a,9b-dihydro-1H-cyclopropa[l]phenanthrene in benzene (or benzene-d6) at ambient temperature produces adamantylidenecarbene. The carbene undergoes dimerization to a cumulene and may also be trapped stereospecific fashion by cis- trans-4-methyl-2-pentene. The low-temperature treatment of 1,1-dibromo-1a,9b-cyclopropa[l]phenanthrene with butyllithium appeared to produce dibenzonorcarynyliden(e/oid) which could be intercepted phencyclone a hindered spiropentane. spiropentane readily rearranges, thermally and photochemically, into triphenylene phenol derivative. its rearrangement product were characterized by X-ray crystallography.
Abstract 3‐O‐Acetyl‐11‐keto‐β‐boswelliasäure wurde aus pulverisiertem Weihrauchgranulat extrahiert und durch HPLC gereinigt. Alle analytischen Spektren sind vollständig entweder im Hauptteil oder in der supporting information wiedergegeben. Die NMR‐ sowie die Massenspektren werden eingehend interpretiert mit theoretischen Berechnungen 13 C‐chemischen Verschiebungen verglichen. Das Projekt stellt eine Fortsetzung des Buches “Classics Spectroscopy” von S. Berger D. Sicker (Wiley‐VCH 2009) dar.
Three polymorphs of the hydrocarbon 9-[(9H-fluoren-9-ylidene)methyl]phenanthrene have been isolated and characterized by single-crystal X-ray crystallography.
